I'd much rather Alvarez pitch and get that big win with a packed house then Cecil. Plus Alvarez was awesome last season against Boston in his start. That first home game should be rocking
This is so bizarre how the M's and the A's play 2 regular season games in Japan then come back to NA and play a few more ST games. I don't get why MLB does it like that.
I can see it happening like something out of pro wrestling. The Jays are losing and Farrell looks defeated and despondent watching from the bench. Then all of a sudden the Rogers Center lights go out, and the music starts up. Then in a blast of pyro, Cito emerges from the tunnel. Cue Buck in the broadcast booth:
Lawrie is at the plate and he looks back to see Cito. Cito points and nods, and with that, Lawrie turns back to the game and knocks the next pitch out into the topmost glass of Windows Restaurant. Jays win. Everyone goes nuts...

I think it's like 21-4-1 or something.
Alvarez has pitched really well, but when I last checked neither Romero or Morrow had given up a run this ST.
Lawrie looks ridiculous, but got hurt. Gose imo looked good, but won't make the team. Rasmus has struggled a little bit. Snider looked good but optioned to AAA, Thames had a good spring. Improved his defence.
Cecil has lost some velocity, looked good for most of his starts. McGowan is hurt, which sucks, but gives Drabek a chance to make the team now. He played the Yanks earlier in the week, gave up 5 hits through 5 but 0 runs.
Joey Bats is the best hitter. Ricky Romero is the best pitcher.
If you can sift through all the d-bag fashion caps, they've got the regular ones in there too.

Was thinking the same thing. If they have to cut somebody from the 40man to fit Vizquel, I hope it's Woodward.
I am pretty sure we removed him off 40-man in the off-season. He was just up so the team could reward him. Valbuena will be the only taken off 40-man to clear a spot for Vizquel.

As far as I know/remember... when Vanderhurk was waived and picked up by Cleveland that freed up a spot for Vizquel.
No need to clear a spot for him as we only have 39 guys on the 40 man right now.
Regardless Valbuena will still be waived and then sent to AAA if he clears.
