The goalie doesn't worry about the cross crease when Both D men are back on the rush. At worst he may be worrying about the trailer coming in the zone if the center is not back checking. In that scenario, its the D man's responsibility to prevent the cross crease, not the goaltenders. Watch the goal again, what the hell is the Jet on the right side going to do? He isn't a threat at all.
The only time a cross crease pass becomes an issue on the transition is an odd man rush.
Its a moot point either way, because Hank wasn't worried about the cross crease from his positioning on the play.
As goalie you have to have confidence in your Dmen taking away lanes and angles. Otherwise your going to be overplaying the crease.
If you don't believe a goalie is constantly assessing where he is Dmen are relative to the puck...I don't know what to tell you.
