This. I just don't get why any real FAN would WANT this.
You see it more often with certain posters and their dislike for Kovy or Parise, but I'm beyond baffled at the ones who express their dislike for the way the team plays. If you don't like the team, don't be a fan.

I agree. There's plenty of room at Nassau for these people. We've always taken pride in quality over quanity within our fanbase, I'd like it to stay that way. They're like Indians fans in Major League.
Thanks for all the responses. I find it's hard to share perspective with many of the Devils fans here because I haven't spoken, face to face, with another Devils fan in years. Last time I talked to a Devils fan was for about 30 seconds in the middle of Kansas while I was working at a concessions stand. Guy bought a hotdog wearing a Devils jersey and I tried to talk to him, but he was a "big" guy who seemed more interested in his food than talking hockey. Hockey is about as popular as arena football out here in Anaheim, too, so that's no better.

I pretty much always pick against the Devils in the Predict the Score, but I love being wrong. I pick against NJ to hedge my bets in case they lose. Then there's always a chance I could win the prediction for the day and lessen how pissed I am at NJ losing. If they win, I'm happy I was wrong. If they lose, I might win the PTS.

I think part of my perspective on the Devils comes from watching them in person, now that I think about it. I've only been to about a dozen Devils games, and aside from one preseason game that hardly counts, the Devils have lost every single one I've ever been to. All one goal, whether in regulation, overtime, shootout, it's always a loss.
Would anyone's current perspective change if the Devils had lost every time they'd gone to a game?
If we lose tonight we're finished! ARRRGGGHHHHHHH!
Hey this is the negativity thread right?
No but really win tonight!
On the losing every game attended talk. 7 out 10 times in the post lockout I saw the Devils play road games they lost. They beat TB both times on the road this year, won a game against Florida in shootout, and lost one after blowing a 3-0 lead, and lost 4-3. Aside from that 7 out 10 times I go to away games they lose. Though I did see them beat the Isles on the road this year too. I'm talking Philadelphia, and the Garden they usually lose. It's a 70/30 chance. 50/50 on the Island.
We are the laziest, dumbest, softest, and stupidest team in the league. Seriously I've never seen a team collectively have worse hockey sense than this team. Holy ****. We don't stand a chance in the playoffs.
