Even with goose gone we've been using alot of the cap space on call ups. Could we insert Hecht into the lineup if we wanted to?
I think we should be fine on that. We don't need a lot, just enough for the end of the season.

I wonder if Hecht would be open to a conditioning stint in Rochester. From a hockey perspective, that means he won't disrupt the chemistry they've built on this run while at the same time getting him some game action so he'd be ready for the playoffs if he's in fact this close.

Tropp has more value to this team than Boyes.

Boyes has 6 goals in 62 games. Tropp has 3 in 30. Neither have a scoring touch. Tropp plays ~13 mins a game. Boyes plays ten or less.

Vanek-Hodgson-Tropp
Leino-Roy-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Gerbe-Hecht-Kaleta

I don't see Hecht returning anyways, so it's moot.
That's not much of an argument either. Both are scoring at the same pace, while Boyes has not played top six minutes with any of our most talented forwards all season long. Tropp has now seen time and collected points with Hodgson and Vanek. Obviously Tropp is the better value considering contracts and being an entry level player, but on-ice scoring potential on a wing with Hodgson and Vanek? If Boyes doesn't have to be the 4th line C, I don't see how Tropp is such a better option. It's much ado about nothing since Hecht is probably done anyway, I just don't see it. Oh well it won't matter.

What's the old saying.......you can always tell a German. You just can't tell him much?

(I'm half German so I think I can poke fun at my ancestory!! lol)

All I see is some 4th line minutes based on conditions and opposition.

I'm a Hecht fan but remain concerned that he doesn't mess up his future health/quality of life.

Still, it's his decision to make. He should not expect to see time with the top 9.
