Any news on him, he seems like an intriguing prospect, but I know that there is some concern that he might never come over to play in the NHL, I saw that he's gotten up to 180+ lbs and so maybe hes beginning to fill out.
I hope so, he seems (I am NO expert) to be picking up his play and seems to have gotten bigger, if 185 is bigger, I think the last time I saw he was 170. Anyway would be nice to at least come over for camp next year.
I think Drozdestky will remain in Russia. He gets paid well, plus he won't have to spend time in the minors. I believe that if he were going to come he would have come by now. He could just be a late bloomer who could still come over, but I doubt it.
Several people have commented on how Malek blew his chance a few years ago when he refused to come to USA unless given a one-way contract. He has got to be almost 30 by now, so I don't think he'll come over. I'd certainly trade his rights if anyone was willing to take him.
I don't think, that Droz is 1st or 2nd line material for strong NHL team. But in "new nhl" he will be able to score goals. His career in Russia very inconsistent. Possible, came time to try itself in North America.
He play for SKA (Saint Petersburg) right now. 12gp, 13 pts (3+10) and 6pim.
