Yeah, when my team don't make the playoffs, I cheer for the underdogs, or for the franchises whose history has yet to be written (I know, it lacks logic since the habs has basically a hundred years of fairy tale already written) .
Of course for the panthers there was the 1996 chapter, but it would be great if they'd manage to defeat some powerhouses and unexpectedly make their way to the SCF.
Teams I will cheer for in the first round in the east :
-Florida
-Buffalo, though the rangers winning this wouldn't bother me.
-Ottawa
Ottawa --------
How can you go for a division rival.....Man I hate that team!
I wouldn't mind cheering for the panthers in the east, i don't have anything against you guys,in fact i love your coach and wish the habs could find someone like him.
My team in the west was always the preds and will be this year. I have a lot of admiration for this team staff from management to coaching, the way they perform under cap.and now with the kosty brothers..ou lalala
They're a brutal hockey team. I have no idea how they win games. No doubt they're overachieving, like the year we finished first in the East.
i don't think so. the year we 'over-acheived', we did by not getting injured. they have been through some serious injury troubles and still managed to make the playoffs. they got good veterans, good goaltending and great coaching and rather ironocally, like us years past, they score timely goals and they win when they have to.
go cats

you can be from, say, chelsea, and consider them your second favorite team?
although after this year, it's getting tougher to like them - or their fans. except jerk store, he's cool
Definitely rooting for the Panthers in the East. A great story, and a great job being done by Dale Tallon. I questioned many of the moves he made in the off-season but credit to him for turning that team into a possible division winner. Also not sure if Tallon hired Kevin Dineen, but that was also a great move, looks to be a great coach.
