I once attended a show in Montreal, where the opening band was Face To Face (punk), and the main band was... Hoobastank.

Most awkward double-bill of all time. I went to see Face To Face, and the mix of people in the crowds could be described, at best, as "tentatively ready for a 2000-person brawl".

Zeus is awesome! I've seen them 3 times in Ottawa and Toronto and they put on one of the best live shows of any indie band i've seen in terms of enthusiasm and sound quality.. really rockin'.

Their music is like what the Beatles would sound like if they were a Canadian indie band in the year 2012.

For you EDM fans, it was leaked that NADIA ALI will be at the Escapade Music Festival on June 30th. Hopefully the lineup comes out sooner than later.

They're at mavericks March 31, so this Saturday.

Didn't realize how many people come in for the juno's too bad I could have planned to see some.

So I went to Junofest at Ritual to see Austra. I caught the two bands before Austra, but they weren't my cup of tea. As for Austra, they started really late, due to soundcheck issues. That cut their set very short, and they just basically played their singles and that was it. Sound was really bad at the start, which spoiled "Lose it". After that, the sound got better. Nice "esoteric" dancing by the backup singers, too bad the stage was too low to see them properly. I'll try to catch them at Osheaga...

I saw them at Ritual a few months back and had the exact same complaints - her voice and their overall sound is just too much for that place. As for the stage, yeah, it's just not the best for anything really.

Im hoping theyre at Bluesfest!!

There hasn't been a decent band that's played at Barrymore's in 10+ years. The owner is more interested in bringing in tattooed guido ****** canoes to drink grey goose and listen to crappy DJs.

Is anyone watching the Juno's? It seems weird, screaming pre teens up front and everyone else sitting on their hands.
