Hope it's not serious. Hope he makes it back in net before the end of the season to show management he wants a contract. Gus just can't catch a break in Toronto when it comes to injuries.
Again, a higher number of injuries when you are out of it is not "tanking" or "suspicious". It is players not playing through injuries that they otherwise would, because it doesn't make a difference either way.

I agree. I'm wondering if Gustavsson simply doesn't want to play. I do not think he is 'faking' injury for the purpose of tanking. I do question his loyalty and commitment to the team cuz this 'injury' suffered in warm-up looks real mysterious to me. I am not stating any concrete allegation against him but it sure seems questionable to me.
I don't think he is faking...it is sort of depressing to know that even in the NHL shooters are morons about shooting in warm ups without seeing if the goalie is ready.
(Honestly there is probably not a goalie alive who doesn't feel this way...warm up is for the goalies to feel the puck and get moving, it is not groin straining breakaway practice, it is not shoot without regard to if the goalies is already facing another shot....or has his back turned getting a drink, it is not about picking corners. Practice is one thing, warm up is another...../rant)
One thing surprising about it is Allaire has all his goalies wear these massive knee pads that are VERY protective. Somehow that shot must've found a hole. (more likely because Gus wasn't in a position to anticipate the shot)
That said, after the first goal in his last game, Gus' body language had me thinking "Maybe Burke went into the dressing room before the game and said, "yeah, we're not re-signing you". Gus just looked so resigned to the inevitability of another loss.
Grew up in the same town (Kincardine) and is his brothers Tims age. Good guy and pretty happy for him. Both of them are. I remember seeing Scott in the backround behind the bench/hallways on TV years back.

Anyway, Good for Scott. That is something he can be proud of. I am sure it made the local paper!
