2012 unrestricted free agents

I doubt we makes a huge splash ( suter or parise)
But what other names would look good in the red, white n blue?

There are slim pickings in this years FA period. I like Suter, Parise and Garrison, others are going to cost much more than they're worth just because of how few good FA are out there.

Not 100% but team needs a lot of work on the back end, of it was I is only keep Merlin Markov subban gorges and Diaz trade weber for a fourth and sign a solid top two way top four push for suter but really try for a top four emelin diaz as your bottom two Markov an the new top four as your second and gorges and subban as your first.

Goaltendings fine, for forwards top line is intact but you can't really plan on any top 6's till we see who is drafted

Depends on how much we have left after resigning Price.
Enough of 2nd or 3rd liners, we got enough of them. We need a game breaker, so either Parise or nothing.

Start by getting rid of Gomez and his contract

If the Sharks don't make the playoffs, they will most probably move a center. I would trade for Marleau if available

Radulov would be sweet, if Roy comes onboard do you think we might make a stab at him?

Ok, well do u think roy would take a stab at radulov even though he's restricted. Obviously any moron would take a stab at him if he was an ufa!

yes, if RADU wont comit to a long term deal end of year, i think Nash trades his rights at the draft possible or before season starts etc...

also id LIKE TO SEE, Montreal go and try to bring back ufa Alexander Perezhogin and right a wrong ..
The old guard has been cleaned out ...

Garrison is clearly going to be one of the most future overpaid UFA in this league. Not sure we can add to what we already have despite how good he could be.

Game breaking forwards? Zack Parise and Ray Whitney.

Game breaking defenseman? Dennis Wideman and Ryan Suter.

That's it.

Parenteau, Garrison, and Semin are other guys to look at. Penner, if you want to take the chance (I don't think I do).

Yep. And I'm not really convinced that either Parise or Suter will still be on the list by July 1st.

Too bad he's most likely to burn the team he's playing for and not the other way around.

Wizard will most likely stay near PXN.

As I've said before I'd like to see Garrison in Montreal, he's a great trigger man on the PP and he's a rock defensivly.

I bet Semin could be signed for a good value contract.

Wideman would basically be like Wisniewski. Very similar players - quite a few brainfarts, but makes up with it offensively. But as far as defenseman go, he's easily the second best on the market this year.

I doubt it. I'd venture to guess that he'll get $4.5M-$5M a year.

The FA pool this year is pathetic as far as star defenseman/forwards go. Semin is probably the 3rd best forward in the pool. And with Wizard (Ray Whitney) being old, Semin will be 2nd on a lot of team's lists.

I think a guy that would be worth the risk if well surrounded is Semin. He had some great years in Washington but seems to have fallen out of favor the last few years. He is the most skilled player on the UFA market and could put up 80-90 points with a lethal PP and pretty good linemates, plus I'm sure having him would help Plekanec's production(vs playing with White Moen Darche etc) by 15-20 points. I think he is a guy that you sign for 2-3 years at around 6 mil(Rather than 5 years at 5 mil) to minimize the risk.

I think possibly adding a guy like Pahlsson or Gaustad(though he will probably be overpriced)could be good, to take some defensive responsibility off Plekanec(which in turn will help score more goals).

On defense I think we need a better mix of offense and stay at home guys. I think a guy like Grossman for 4 years at 3.5-3.8/year would be a solid addition. Jackman Allen and a few others fit in this mold. Better to pay a bit more for a guy that can play 20-22 minutes vs a 16-18 minute guy like O'brien or Hannan.

Those moves can pretty easily be done by waiving Gomez or trading him if we can find a partner.

We don't need a Wideman we need another stay at home d-man with Gorges and Emelin.
