It has to be Miller because the guy has like all of their dang wins and has been playing either good or great pretty much every night. Ennis makes the conversation interesting as he certainly deserves the kudos, but his great play has a little bit less production and direct team-wide impact behind it over the entire half than Miller's does.
I'll give this as a point in Ennis' favor: he does seem to have locker room intangibles. Who doesn't love Ennis on the team?
His style and his personality seem to inject positive vibes, that's true and something that from all I can gather the locker room really needs. These guys seem to take things way too seriously when they're off their game. Generally speaking that tends to make things worse more often than it makes them better.

This is an EXCELLENT point. Nobody wants to hear from egotistical jerks or whiners, and I think Myers and Ennis kind of bring an upbeat confident aura to the team. Positive vibes man...far out.
Are you saying he's not the goat? 7 Million dollar man producing nothing. Get rid of this bum, I don't care how much he produced in the first half, he's done nothing in the second.
Wins in the first half of the season count just as much as the second half.
An interesting stat that triggered memories of Hasek from today's edition of NHL Live:
in the last 14 games that Miller has faced 40 or more shots, he's 11-0-3 with a GAA of 2.03 and save percentage of 0.951.
They were joking that the Sabres should let the other team fire 40 shots every night...

That would enhance the McGuire theory of 33-save Relativity
Interesting story by Elliotte Friedman during his WGR interview yesterday about Ennis:
During a game in juniors where Ennis wasn't 100% healthy but still able to play, he and the coaches agreed in advance that he'd only be used sparingly for power plays in the game because of his health.
Friedman recounted how, as the game went along, Ennis became angry on the bench at not playing more and the coach went over to speak with him. He walked back to his assistant coach afterwards, who saw the head coach shaking his head and asked what the conversation was about. The head coach recounted that Ennis told him, "I'm still your best player even at 80% and can help the team".
The reason Friedman was bringing up the story (aside from its relevance to a CBC feature they'll air tomorrow during the HNIC broadcast of Sabres-Leafs) was to point out the inner confidence that Ennis has as a person and player in himself and that he succeeds because of that belief that he can make a difference in a game and impact on the outcome.
