Recap of Sam on Boomer and Thistle today (NHL Home Ice)

Anybody else catch this today?

Basically, Sam talked about the defense. He said he anticipated the top-4 heading into the playoffs being Girardi-Macdonag, and Staal-MDZ. He also said Bickel will certainly be a favorite since Torts has used him all season, and Stralman and Eminger will constantly rotate out until one of them solidifies the spot.

Boomer asked him about Sauer and Sam gave the rundown we all know already -- Sauer suffered a concussion from hitting the back of his head on the dasher rather than the actual hit itself. He tried to come back and suffered a setback. He is pretty much shut down for the rest of the season and playoffs.

Boomer is an Islanders fan, but he was very impressed with the Rangers and said he didnt buy into the theory that the Rangers will have issues in the 1st round.

Nothing groundbreaking, but it;s nice to get Rangers coverage on NHL radio.

Sam was making the rounds today . He was on Beningo and Roberts at 12:20 today. He hopes the Rangers don,t play Buffalo in the first round would rather them face Washington. Otherwise nothing earth shattering.

Boomer is not an Islander's fan, as someone mentioned above. But yes, I agree that it's nice to see blueshirt coverage!

Boomer Gordon? He's from NHL Home Ice. I don't think he's an Islander fan either, he is from Canada.

I must be thinking of the guy on HTM then. He is a Sens fan who lives in Toronto.

Sorry I didnt clarify guys.

Boomer Gordon is a Canadian who loves the Isles but constantly makes fun of the Leafs.

Potvin is a regular on their show.

Rangers dont normally get a lot of love on NHL radio but this season they have hopped on the bandwagon.

I definitely suggest anybody who is in their cars a lot during the week do get it. Blows the doors off of any coverage from local radio, TV or print.

I agree with Sam that Stralman and Eminger will be off and on.

700 combined NHl regular season games between them, and only 5 playoff games (Eminger, 2008)

Not a huge deal for 5th or 6th defensemen, but Torts has shown he has a quick hook for guys in the playoffs too.

I love NHL radio. I got so sick of ESPN and WFAN waiting days for them to speak five seconds about hockey, usually to insult it.

Satellite radio is amazing.

Rossi, that's it! I couldn't think of his name. I listen to him every morning, I dont know why I confuse him and Boomer -- they sound similar I guess.

Yeah, what's great about that network is that they are all Canadian and from Ontario but they all bash the Leafs.

Kearn is a Habs fan. Rossi the Sens. Boomer the Isles. Berce I think likes the Caps.

Really good journalists if you ask me.
