He will be solid if not good. So no problem for us. Maybe its the right time for Bryz to take a brake...
Bob will be fine!
I don't think "scared" is the right word. Bryz has been one of the best goalies in the NHL for the past 6 weeks or so. Bobrovsky is the backup, so there is going to be some concern, especially since he has started 1 game in the last 19 games.
I'm glad that you're so confident about Bobrovsky being in goal, but you can't be surprised that there's some concern about Bryz getting hurt and Bobrovsky getting at least 1 start.
Chip fractures in the foot would usually mean that a player is out for at least 2-4 weeks. Never in my life have I heard about someone coming back from a chip fracture in a couple of days. In any case, they shouldn't not rush him back, as it could potentially worsen.
I broke a bone in the ball of my foot one fall in college, off the ice. I didn't miss a game, felt better on the ice than it did off. Like a nice walking boot with a blade on it. Though trying to limp around while carrying my gear was a pain.
I still can't fathom where he would have been hit in the foot that wasn't either covered by the cowling, or on the outside there is usually a flap on the bottom of your pad. Then again I use old heavy bauer supremes, new skates tend to be lighter and less protective.
The clue is in the MRI. We all know how bad the flyers medical staff are, but even them with all their incompetence are not at fault here.
A chip in the bone can be so seriously small that you don't often pick it up. Lots of people actually have chips out of the bone and don't realise it for months, especially in the hands, shins and feet.
Sounds like Bryz is just dealing with a bit of pain in the foot, which is normal. It the pain became significant I'm guessing they will give him pain killing shots. There is no surgery possible if he has a small chip. Sometimes with larger chips they remove the offending piece. This is obviously not one of those situations.
Money would be on Bryz simply playing through the pain until it heals. That and the flyers are in no position to give Bob the starting role for the play-offs.

fair enough ;D
I was only surpised because before the Bryzgalov weeks a lot of these people want Bob to be the starter. Me included. I havenīt lost my faith in Bob. Other maybe have... Donīt know why...
It's very sad but I dont see any way we can avouid getting bounced in first rd. Bryz injured, Prongs out, Mesz out....
AND we'll face Pens with a healthy Crosby?
Sorry. No chance of getting past first round.
Pure logic.
Just like the Pens never had a chance to even make the playoffs without Crosby and Letang (to a lesser degree) this year... or the Bruins couldn't have won a cup without Savard... I'm sure one could find more examples of that kind.
It's not like every franchise puts their roster on paper and the cup is handed over to the team with the greatest names inked down.

Yep. When I was 11, I feel out of a tree and landed on my elbow on pavement. It hurt like hell at frist. X-Rays showed a chipped bone and there was nothing they could do for me except let it heal back. No problem at all.

Ironically, the Flyers are probably the team best positioned to beat the Pens, whoever has home ice 'advantage'...
