Every time a GM search comes up, Paul Fenton's name really should be at the top of the list.
As for Dorian, is this going to be another Peter Chiarelli situation where they may hire him, but they don't get him until after the draft so the Habs can't steal all the good prospects we've identified?

No, I'm not a girl. Stop asking!
It would really suck to lose him, especially to a division rival. If it was a western team interested in him then I would be disappointed but happy for him, but not to a division rival. Either way I would think (and hope) there are other candidates who are much more likely to end up with the job.
Good for Dorion, hope he gets it. People who excel at their work deserve job promotions. Why would you hope he gets held back? Tim Murray is obviously the heir apparent here. Glad the Red Wings didn't have the same attitude with MacLean.
And Fenton and Nill don't have a hope in hell of getting the Montreal job. They don't parlez-vous.

No one will argue he deserves a promotion, the problem is no one wants him to get it in Montreal.
If Dorion does not get the GM job he is bound to wind up with an assistant GM job eventually. Curious to see who would be the next director of player personel, maybe Lowes?

He's the lead candidate to be our assistant GM in the next couple years. Sure it's possible that he gets picked up before that but I'd be very surprised if he got the Habs job.
He might want to see his work through in Ottawa because it's starting to look pretty impressive.

He's helping build something that could turn into something special. He may not want to leave that at this time.
Why would he do that when he can get a massive pay raise?
Because money isn't everything for some people. He may be paid 'enough' already. Maybe he really enjoys what he's doing here. Maybe he doesn't want the pressure in MTL. Maybe 'gene has already promised him a position.
