Maybe I need to watch it again but it didnt appear to me that Dion "jumped" Brayden. Phaneuf hit him cleanly and then Brayden went after Dion and Dion responded in kind which created an even bigger mess between other players. Did not see Phaneuf going out of his way to attack Schenn at all.
anyone can play 25min, what good is the 25min if you suck and your team is losing?
beauchemin played over 25min, he must be the next ray bourque
Most of your posts I don't agree with, but this one absolutely. Here's some stats from this season
Dion Phaneuf
TOR D
GP 78
Hits 207 (This stat is quite good for him)
Blocks 122 (Quite good as well)
Missed Shots 88 (This is horrendous)
Giveaways 73 (Horrible as well, Gardiner has 72 which is not good either)
Shooting percentage 5.2%
Just watching the games you can see Dion handles the puck way too much and plays way too many minutes.
I know nobody listens to Greg Brady anymore, but I tuned in briefly this morning as I was driving to work and heard him discuss this crazy theory.
He said reliable sources have told him that the Leafs have dressing room problems and Brady thinks this is the reason for the collapse. I know this has been discussed on here before.
Brady thinks the root cause of it all is a feud between Dion Phaneuf and Luke Schenn. The crazy part is he said it was obvious that this feud was the reason Phaneuf jumped Brayden Schenn last night!
Brady then said it was time Leafs fans 'connected the dots' and that he is certain Phaneuf and Schenn won't be on the same team next year.
What do you guys think?
From afar, it seems Ron Wilson and Schenn didnt get along. Phaneuf was probably loyal to Wilson as the coach made him captain. Its rumoured Aulie was traded because of a rift with Phaneuf. Schenn and Aulie are the same age and from Sakatchewan, seems natural they'd be buds.
This might seem like a soap opera. But it might also be an important riddle that needs to be solved before the Leafs can figure out how they turn the ship around. It would almost be encouraging if a solvable dressing room feud was what caused the collapse.
Here is the link where Brady makes the allegations. I know its hard to listen to the guy for longer than 10 mins, fortunately he pretty much starts into it at the beginning and gets more into it for about 10 mins. Then I had to turn him off.
Those are alot of accusations with absolutely no proof. From both you and Brady.
It is pretty pathetic that that seems to be acceptable these days.
These dressing room problems rumors have come up from a few reporters. It's not just Brady. Andy Frost said on Leafs Talk once that he's not sure what happens in the dressing rooms, but it is certainly a possibility.

That's a very far cry from "absolutely there are and it's between Schenn and Phaneuf".

I'm not saying there aren't dressing room issues. I don't know what happens behind closed doors.
What I'm saying is people should have some proof before they make accusations and shouldn't present speculation as fact.
What feud could Dion Phaneuf and Luke Schenn possibly have? Seriously. The Toronto media is so ridiculous sometimes.
Calling out his play or vice versa
Leadership issues
Attitude issues
There's a lot of reasons why a rift could develop. If Schenn is the last guy off the ice every time and Dion tries to lecture him, Schenn could get irritated, could bite back at Dion.
I don't really care one way or another I think Burke needs to cull the roster and surrond the youngsters with character guys who know what's what in the league. Mike Knuble would fit in T.O.
That's a very far cry from "absolutely there are and it's between Schenn and Phaneuf".
Absolutely, but Phaneuf has had rumors of problems in the Calgary dressing room as well so naturally the first finger would be pointed at him. Really this is just trying to find out why the massive collapse happened.

I don't know Brady's rapport with the Leafs too well, but he claims to have "sources".
Phaneuf isn`t the problem. He was one of they very best dmen in the entire league prior to the all-star break. Phaneuf, Kessel and Lupul carried this team on their backs for half the season. Problem is that when these guys slipped just a little which was bound to happen the next wave of players weren`t anywhere close to good enough. Then it has just spiralled on from there.
On every team in the league there is guys that don`t get along the best. Winning simply solves most of those issues though.
I've been thinking the same since the onset of the teams decline. It brought back shades of Tucker/Corson/Green issues and how they affected the team back in the day. Obviously it's pure speculation, but could it cause the team to collapse if true? I think it could. If I was a player in that locker room and Dion walked in and changed the radio, I wouldn't like him one bit. To assume you own a room day 1 can work on a bunch of sheep, but not on a bunch of lions. Respect (as i hope we all know) is earned, not gifted.
