I thought Duchene had a strong game and worked hard. Third lowest TOI but led the Avs forwards in takeways and blocked shots.

It's all the back to back games. I always wondered why we had so many. I think I read somewhere that we had the most back to back games of any team in the NHL. Awful scheduling. We had a 5 day break earlier in the year too if I remember right.

I just looked at the standing and cried a little. It seems to hopeless.

Well that's what happens when the team blows against Phoenix.

A solid performance and a good win. Shame for Varly, that shutout would have given him the NW lead in shutouts (he is tied with Kipper, Luongo and Backstrom with 4).

EJ -3 on the year now. Good to see him close to the even mark after horrible start to his +/-.

Now I think the only PO chance is if:

SJ or Dallas lose all of their remaining games
PHX get no more than 2 pts.
We win the last 2.

Its slim

Great game by the boys tonight. Surprised by the lack of physicality by both teams. That Olver unassisted goal should get changed. Tough break on th no shutout. But on the bright side, I'm no longer jersey less. Bought the autographed Lando home jersey at the auction table on the concourse.

Excellent game from start to finish. Varly made some 10 bellers tonight just spectacular. Johnson was a complete monster all over the ice and I thought every line played well. Come to think of it. Did every line chip in a goal tonight? I think so. Olver with ROR and Lando, Hejduk with Duchene and Kobasew, Mueller with McClement and Mcleod and Jones with Downie and Stastny. Finish the year strong thats all I ask and perhaps another goal for Duke at home if indeed this is his swan song.

I'm also happy that we unofficially eliminated the Flames.

So basically it works like this now:

Colorado must win both of their games

Dallas must split series with San Jose, and lose to both Nashville and St. Louis

San Jose must split series with Dallas, and split the series with Los Angeles

Phoenix must lose at least 2 of their games in regulation, and we can afford 1 loss in overtime.

So, it seems almost impossible but IF all of this happens, the avs will make the playoffs

Also, if Lando doesn't get an assist on the Olver goal, he took the wrong puck for his 50th point.

So basically one of the teams Sharks, Kings, Stars, Yotes must have 91 points and be in 8th place when the season is over, and Avs win the last two games to get in with 92 points.

Yes this is the most simplest way of looking at it and is how I am going to treat the next 5 days.

And tomorrow 3 huge games coming up.

Ducks play in PHX
Kings in Minn
Dallas in SJ

Not sure about the Dallas game, just hope it's not a 3 point game but if the Ducks and the Wild can somehow win in regulation it would be a monster help for the Avs.

I suppose anything is possible. Ducks did manage to beat the Sharks and Bruins lately. That said, Phoenix is like whoa right now.

Not many, but mostly because we're so rarely in the position to have empty nets to shoot at. There are three empty netters I can think of, but I don't think they've had an empty net to shoot at more than maybe eight times.

EJ looked phenomenal tonight, he dominated the boards and did what he pleased in the offensive and defensive zones for the most part.

Also, Olver looks ridiculously tiny live. At first I thought the Avs had a kid standing with them, before realizing it was Olver.
