You're right, I forgot. He'd be an upgrade over anyting we have, thereby hurting the tank mission.
Whether supporting Tank Nation or not, I don't think the pros outweight the cons of starting him (although backup doesn't sound bad).
-Gets more NHL experience
-The team is facing a Sabres team desperate for the playoffs and coming off of a loss, which could very well lead to a blowout the way the Leafs have been lately
-If a blowout happens, the fans are going to get pissed/sarcastic/apathetic, not the best for the goalies confidence
-Rynnas has already had to deal with losing big at home, now Scrivens too? How does that mess up Marlies Calder run?
Do they have to be coddled at each and every turn?
Rynnas got shelled, so let's protect him. There's nothing wrong with that, but the reaction to Srivens possibly starting is bizarre.
"Ruining confidence etc" - do you people forget him getting shelled against Boston? He's probably had that game on his mind for the past few months, and has been raring for another chance up with the big team to make things right.
If a goalie can't handle a tough defeat, then he shouldn't be in our organization.
ONE GAME will not hurt a goalie's confidence pertaining to the Marlies playoff run.
