Winnipeg Jets inherited large group of NCAA prospects from former Thrashers

The Jets have inherited a prospect pool of NCAA players selected in the late rounds, a policy they continued with the selection of Aaron Harstad in the seventh round last year.

I hope Saponari makes it to the NHL. It will be cool to see a Georgian on the former Thrashers.

Leveille is finally playing in the Bigleagues, finally, no expectations from me though.

?

Leveille hasn't been signed to anything. From the sounds of it, he hasn't done nearly enough to justify using up a contract on him, and will probably go unsigned like Alex Kangas did last year.

I'd rather not sign Leveille. IIRC, not signing a 1st rounder means a compensatory 2nd round pick (in a very deep 2013 draft).

It would be #59, since it is always the same slot of the original draft pick but in the second round (he was drafted #29, the 29th pick of the second round is 59).

I saw Leveille at prospect camp here in Atlanta in 2010. Granted, only a very brief evaluation. However, from what I saw I left convinced that he would never play a single game in the NHL. I would take that 59th pick in a second.

2013 , one first , three seconds ,two thirds.

That is a great base for what could be a very good draft . We need to stock for the future and this really will help in that regard .
