Would've liked more goals for the home side, but WOW, that was a pretty entertaining match. TFC hung in there with a very good squad, and it got nasty at the end.
The only reason I can see why there'd be a red card on the Eckersley-[insert player name here] collision is that there might've been a bit of a kicking motion. MAYBE.
The red card at the final whistle, no one knows. All I know is that Ricardo Salazar refereed games always have the potential to get out of hand, but I really feel that TFC got some very fortunate decisions.
Too bad they didn't make the extra attacker for 10 minutes count. Lots of chances though.
Playing in Mexico next week is going to be a whole different animal.
Great goal by Aceval, Kocic was terrific, and JDG was solid.
I can't believe how brutal Santos were diving all over the pitch... I realize its part of the game but this was just downright embarrassing how far they took it.
Brutal game to watch especially the weather. Santos did not look comfortable at all, and were frustrated.
TFC played decent but could have won this game 3-1. Without Frings, it's still an impressive feat. 2nd leg will be much harder. Extra security? Yes please.
This team needs to get their **** together when it comes to domestic games, seems like their heads are all about the Champions League. Three games and only 1 goal for...pathetic, and now 0-3 to start the season. Hopefully some postives can come out of this week and they can win in Mexico and get to the Champions League Final.
After Plata's second goal, I got exited for a second, then I remembered this is an MLSE team. If there is a way to **** up, they always seem to find it.
