ECHL playoff schedule

ECHL ECHL
@LadyStanley Schedule probably won't be set until after Saturday night's games. Some potential match-ups could start Monday.

Wow, that's a faster turnaround then I was expecting.

First year following the ECHL.... is that usual?

By this point, they have all the permutations determined. It's just a matter of seeding and building dates.

Could be that the potential Monday start has conflicts later in the weeks, so it's start early or get behind. And I'm guessing the potential opponents are within a short drive of each other.

To compare, the NHL won't start playoffs until 4/11, three full days after the season ends.

Don't the Western teams fly everywhere?

Intra-California and Nevada - no. But to Idaho, I believe they do. Perhaps Colorado as well.

StocktonThunder 9:54pm via Web BREAKING: Thunder clinch 5th seed in Western Conf. - will face Colorado in 1st round. Game 1 (4/3) and Game 2 (4/4) at Stockton Arena: 7 pm.

That's a Tuesday start.

Yeah Wheeling was the only one with a conflict I guess so this is it:

Quote:
The Jackals will be home on Friday, Apr. 6, Saturday, Apr. 7 (if necessary), and Monday, Apr. 9 (if necessary) for the final three games of the first round after going on the road for the opening two contests against all opponents besides the Wheeling Nailers. If the Jackals meet the Nailers in the first round, Elmira will be home for the first two games on Tuesday, Apr. 3 and Wednesday, Apr. 4 and then return to First Arena for the fifth game on Monday, Apr. 9 (if necessary).
I have a feeling we will play Chicago, but we will find out tonight. Our guys are ready to go I think we (Elmira) will be the Eastern Conference Champs. These guys are going to play their heart out for it. All we need is one point no matter if Gwenwtt wins or not.

No, thats a mileage rule. If two teams are between I believe 350 miles thats the format.

I hope we don't play Chicago, only team we didn't beat but i'd love to see Marty miss more than anything.

Where did you find that pic? Nice!

You gunna listen? Express up 1-0 after 1. Cyclones miss a penalty shot and outshoot Express 16-4 but Mike embach scored with 2 minutes left in the 1st.

Make that 2-0 Express early 2nd. Chaz "The Spaz" Johnson just scored.

South Carolina and Reading are about to win. Only piece of the puzzle is if Chicago can hang on to its 2-1 lead the last 20 minutes.

Cyclones get a late game tying PP Goal. Now get a PP in OT.

I attended Saturday's Royals-Titans game in Reading, and the scene following the game was pretty surreal. At the last home game of each season, the Royals have a "Shirt Off Our Back" jersey giveaway to season ticket holders. After the Royals beat the Titans, it was announced that the jersey giveaway would take place after the Cyclones-Express game ended -- since the outcome of that game would determine whether winning fans could take their jersey home immediately or have to wait until after the playoffs.

The Royals kept giving constant updates on the Cyclones-Express game, then sounded the goal horn when Cincinnati tied the game in regulation. When the Cyclones won the game in overtime, the goal horn in Reading again went off as the remaining crowd erupted in cheers.

Reading might be a great matchup for us if Owuya doesn't come back.

Probably so. Karel St. Laurent has been medicore at the absolute best when I have seen him this year. He had a couple soft goals, IMO, again Saturday night (he tweeted after the game that there were "bad bounces everywhere" in Saturday's game). I kept expecting the Titans to tie the game the entire third period.

That must have been an amazing performance by Owuya in Wednesday night's game for Reading -- a 55-save shutout.

Owuya did that to us too earlier in the month. We outshot them like 45-18 and lost 2-1.

I listened to the game and it sounded like early in the 3rd the Titans had a chance to tie it and the announcer was going crazy on how it didn't go in because St. Larent had no chance on it as he either didnt see it or was outta position.

Wheeling plays Kalamazoo in the playoffs. Wheeling won its last two games of the regular season. (Granted the one was in the shootout.) Hopfully they can take that effort and play well in the playoffs. A good run like last season to show the new owenership that they made a good investment. It will be curious to see who Donatelli goes with in net. Delmas won the team defensive player award, but Killeen has won more games for them this season as well as starting the last game of the season.

Aces will get a first round bye and draw the winner of #4 Colorado and #5 Stockton. Personally, I hope we draw Colorado because the Aces have dominated them all year long (7-1 record against the Eagles). The Aces have struggled with Stockton, don't let the season series fool you. (5-4-1, three games were played in Alaska, while seven were played in Stockton)

Well, I guess that answers that question. Killeen is going to have to play really well for Wheeling to advance. Maybe the Nailers and Jackals in round 2.
