Anyone else think that the Hall - RNH - Eberle line will be brought in as a unit kind of like that sharks line?
That Sharks line was savvy, veteran group of players with a long history with Team Canada. As talented as they are, I don't see how all three of Hall, RNH and Eberle make that team, especially considering neither Crosby nor Stamkos made the Olympics team on their first try. Of those three Oilers, I could see Eberle getting the most recognition for his clutch play at the WJC.
Also, with the larger ice surface - not to mention that he's an insanely talented player & a natural born leader - I'd love to see Marty St-Louis make the team if he keeps playing at his PPG pace. Also take into consideration Marty's chemistry with Stamkos. Add Eberle to that line and it may be a thing of beauty.
With Steve Yzerman back at the helm (and now the GM of the Bolts), I'm interested in seeing how this all plays out.
evander kane is coming along superbly. in 2 years time he should make it. and i see hartnell as a 4 th liner. the HM was for players who may might or might not make it. 2 years is a long time for players to develop
Neal - Crosby - Perry
Stamkos - Tavares - Giroux
Nash - Toews - Sharp
Hall - RNH - Eberle - I actually doubt they go with a kid line in the Olympics but it would be sweet.

It's not 2 full years (seasons) any more. It's one season and a half.
And since most preliminary decisions come in the summer before. It's one season to develop.
Yzerman won't be interested in choosing guys who are young. Canada doesn't need to do that with their depth. You take the best guys.

I'm not saying I disagree with your overall point, but Crosby was in his rookie season, and Stamkos in his second (in the midst of his breakout season) when they were passed over. All three Oilers will be in their third or fourth seasons when 2014 comes around. It's not uncommon for Hockey Canada to look at players in that age range.
Speaking as an Oilers fan, I think it will be a bit of a stretch to have all 3 kids on the immediate roster, let alone on the same line. 2/3 is plausible. RNH's development next year is gonna be huge
Is Brent Seabrook a lock for Team Canada? I notice most people include him in their lineups. Wasn't he the defenseman with the lowest TOI on that team?

Doubt it. That line may have chemistry but they still have a lot to prove before they get a line of their own in the Olympics. The kid line has actually been split up for the majority of this season so even though we've seen glimpses of great chemistry between these three, I'd like to see them dominate consistently first. Also, they need to get stronger and be able to protect the puck better or else they'd be shut down easily. The three also need to get better defensively or else Canada would get killed if they are hemmed in their own end. Not saything they are terrible in their own end, but they could definitely improve.
Posted this in the other thread but I'll shoot it here as well:
Steven Stamkos - Sidney Crosby (C) - John Tavares
Corey Perry - Claude Giroux - Jordan Eberle
Rick Nash - Jonathan Toews (A) - Eric Staal
James Neal - Patrice Bergeron - Taylor Hall
Jordan Staal
Drew Doughty -Shea Weber (A)
Duncan Keith - Brent Seabrook
Kris Letang - Alex Pietrangelo
Marc Staal*
Roberto Luongo
Carey Price
Marc-Andre Fleury
*Dropped Girardi in favour of Staal after talking to some Rangers posters.

Not bad. One of the better lists I have seen.
Concerns...
What about Tyler Seguin?
I think Getzlaf will be on the team.
I also think Yzerman will keep Richards/Toews/Nash together - altho Richards is (by far) the weakest link.

Not sure about Seabrook.
- Regarding Tyler Seguin, yeah he was my last choice to be left off. The only problem is that we already have too many centers on the team so I tried getting some natural wingers, which is the main reason why Hall went before him. Seguin is also still somewhat inconsistent (from what I have seen) and doesn't always "bring it" like Hall does.
- Getzlaf is another boderline but as I already said, he's a center and I can't really see him playing wing. Take this into consideration with the fact that he has currently 10 goals (!) on the season with 2 games to go.
- I tried keeping that awesome line intact as well but Richards has struggled way too much lately. 2006 taught us that keeping former players just because they were on the previous team isn't necessarily the best idea. Besides, Hall's style of play suits the line well, he's kind of like a more reckless mini-Nash
- Seabrook was a boderline pick but from what some Chicago posters are saying, he's been there #1 this year.

I like it except for the Staal brothers at forward, I think there are better options, but overall a solid team.
The top line seems like a no-brainer to me. They are the three best Canadian players. Put em together. The second line matches two of the most prolific scorers with a playmaker that I think by 2014 will be world-class in his consistency and ability. On the third line a pair of enthusiastic and capable Oilers balanced by one of the very best two-way centres. The fourth line really seems like a crap shoot. There are soooo many options, and any number of combinations could be effective. I personally like the veteran presence of Bergeron. He's responsible, and has been to the top of every stage. Iginla is just the definition of class, and assuming his production doesn't trail off too much, the team could benefit from having at least one veteran of that calibre. I will take Kane in the same vein as Nugent.Hopkins, I'm gambling that he will be ready, but I think he will be.
Letang-Weber
Doughty-Pietrangelo
Keith-Seabrook
I've got a feeling that some names on Defense will arise over the next year or two that we may not be necessarily expecting. This seems like the safest six, but really, I think the D is the hardest to predict.
Price
MA Fleury
Luongo
The common names in net. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of goaltenders make their names heard though and push consideration.
