Without Sekera's unusual gaffe and that flukey **** at the end of the 2nd this game at the very least goes to OT. No excuses on those D-men injuries.

Florida: @Detroit, Winnipeg, @Washington, Carolina.

Buffalo needs to go 3-0-0 and have Florida pick up a max of two points. Not likely, but not totally unrealistic. Washington will win the Southeast, IMO.

I don't even know what to say at this point. All our players that are supposed to be leaders (Pominville, Vanek, Roy, Miller) disappeared.

Thanks for another crappy season and a crappy draft pick to go along with it, and another year of crappy coaching.

Of all the teams to implode in the final stretch, I never thought it would be us.

I bet if the Sabres would have went into a defensive shell to try and minimize the D injury impact, the usual suspects blame Ruff for that.

They try to continue playing their game, and it's Ruff's fault for that too. Yes, Ruff gave up the puck instead of Sekera on the power play. Yes, Ruff is directly responsible for Derek Roy being a hot pile of flaming ****.

it's gonna be too bad if they don't make it and the Rangers end up with the 1st seed because I think they can beat the Rangers when they are healthy.

I'm officially on the "trade Vanek, sign Parise" bandwagon. I've loved watching the guy play for years, but he's just way too big of a headcase. He hardly looked engaged at all tonight, and given what was at stake, that's really unacceptable. Dangle him to Minny for their 1st and a prospect

edit: I didn't realize they had fallen all the way back to 27th. They'll want more than Vanek, lol

Sulzer's a mistake, I'll give you that. Sekera really isn't considering the circumstances.

He's seriously ****ed up injury wise. The HNIC guys were talking about him all night long. They showed clips of him on the bench and he was having problems even moving around. However, I agree we should move him. His cap hit is too high for the production he produces and he is injured way too much. His career is going to be a short one with the beating that he takes.

But yes, it's Ruff.
You're right. Ruff is a brilliant coach. I can tell right now that next year will be our year to blow the first half of the season, barely make the playoffs, and then win the Cup. Ruff needs just one more chance! No doubt!

I'm upset and I no longer think they WILL make the playoffs, but let's not pretend it is over. They need to go and win out and then hope someone blows it. Doesn't look like the Caps will blow it, but you never know.

Like the caps game?

The truth is, when our d men start to drop, we start to drop in the standings.

Who cares, thougf? If they miss the playoffs changes need to be made regardless. I want atleast one major move. The shift to our new core has started.

Ruff is not the coach for this team, regardless of his talent at coaching in general.

And not to harp on it--OK, maybe a little--I still don't get why Brennan wasn't utilized on the PP, especially with how much guys like Sulzer, Sekera, and Leo were going to play at ES and on the PK. That would've been a great opportunity to best utilize Brennan's skills, and give those other guys some rest.

Also, that last play--the slapshot off the faceoff--was tailor-made for Brennan. Instead, it was Leo.

Doesn't that give us 91 points and you 90 points? I fail to see how that gets you into the playoffs?

THIS. Ugh. Why not put him out at the end instead of 6 forwards -- replace Vanek who just didn't show anything all game.

Don't know if it matters in the end though. Our D is so much worse without Myers/Ehrhoff.
