If he hits 40 he'll be the first 40 goal guy to be drafted by us since Leclair and Richer. Hopefully Pacioretty too in the future.

1G, 2P (3 pts) and 3 hits for Lapierre yesterday.

That guy would look great on Eller's RW or at C with White on 4th: he is a relentless forechecker, a great pest, big body, loves to dish out hits (currently 11th in the league), he always step his game up a notch come playoffs time, lightning speed... why can't we have players like him on our bottom lines instead of Nokelainen, Geoffrion and Blunden?

PS contrary to popular belief, Lapierre was always among our "leaders" in terms of #fights. Nevertheless his total of fights (8!) thus far in 2011-12 is impressive!

No surprise for me. He has an amazing wrist shot, he is a pure goal scorer and he has some chemestry with Ribeiro.
I miss him

Because the top dogs(Martin, Gauthier) didn't have him in their plan for the Habs future and thus dumped him to Anaheim. We have yet to replace Lapierre with someone similar to him.

I just want to say that Ryder is not the same player he was when he was with us. He's much much better. His wrist shot was always amazing, but he uses his teammates so much better now. He doesn't over handle the puck as much, and he doesn't do that stupid move at the blueline that causes turn overs and creates breaks the other way anymore (the game winning series OT goal against Carolina in 2006 was because of that play). He's also become much much better at finding soft spots in coverage.

I always liked him, so good for him. I'm glad he's doing it for Dallas and not the Bruins anymore.

I bet he will resign here when his contract is up, now that JM is gone.

I wouldn't count on it. He and Vigneault go way back and I think many would savor getting first line action over guys like Booth or Raymond when Daniel Sedin is injured. It won't be easy to pry him away. Plus, Vancouver's situation is much better than Montreal's chaos.

With D. Sedin injured, Lapierre is on Canucks' first line (4pts in 4 periods)

I guess this thread is getting merged soon and it's alright

I'm just happy for a former hab getting a chance of a lifetime and capitalizing on it.

Yes he did have hands of stone, but damn did he had heart

Gauthier made a smart move, traded him to Anaheim who flipped him for a better pick. Bravo Pierre!!!

As I mentioned in "The Official Ex-Habs Thread Part IV", he would look great as Eller's RW or at C with White on 4th.

Considering the Habs' "depth", he'd be playing with Pleks right now.

So he's on a line with the best passer in the NHL and he's putting up points? Why didn't we think to try that!

I thought 4th liners can't score even with a top passer?

I would pay an absurd amount of the little money I have to the Canadiens just for them to get Lapierre back.

A man can dream....

And that would totally get my girlfriend back to watching EVERY game with me, instead of just half or so...

I really thought at the moment he was traded, that Lapierre was going to be a hab for many years to come. A player made for the playoffs.

It's only been 2 games, and even with his "good' run Lapierre only has 8 goals on the season.

Really, the great season belongs to Higgins. That guy almost destroyed his career with his partying ways in Montreal, and it took him awhile to get it back, but this year for the Canucks you're seeing the Higgins that made him a favorite in Montreal. A force on the forecheck, and a solid penalty killer. If he hadn't gotten injured, he would've had his 1st 20 goal season since 2007-2008, 4 years ago, as it is he's already passed the 40 pt. mark which is his highest point total since 2007-2008 too.

I'm happy for him. I loved the way he played the game when he was good for us in his first three seasons.

Anyone else find it funny that Halak got pity because Price was always the 'Habs' guy' but now in St.Louis he is in the exact opposite position being the 'Blues' guy' in front of Elliott who was benched in favour of him for 2 straight games now despite getting 3 shutouts in a row.
