Any chance he plays in the NHL next season?

Not unless the Islanders are desperate.

The Spits have a great club going into next season. He'll be a major part of that going forward I think.

I'm a big fan of Josh Bailey. I think the Isles did a great job in grabbing him. I was hoping my Leafs would do their best to make a trade, to grab him.

I hope not. He needs at least another year, likely two.

Sorry to bump, but Josh has been switched to wing lately and has been red hot! In addition, I don't see Tanguay much but I saw some of his Youtube highlights, and I think this was a very good comparison. Josh doesn't have the speed yet, but his creativity, hands, and style of play of the wing is similar. Josh though has been great on the PK and has developed a gritty game of late as well. It's hard to tell if he's turned a corner or not because the Isles are playing "meaningless" games but if he stays on the wing and plays with quality NHL talent (Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo) then I think he has a shot to put up 60 points a year in his prime.

Cause he sucks.
Oh this is a thread from 2008....that doesn't change anything.

Sorry PA stromey but we say that about pretty much every prospect with offensive upside. How many 60 pt scorers are there in the league?

Spot on. Seriousl though, the way things are looking for Bailey, he will be a decent 2nd liner/very good third liner at best. Which isn't really awful but for a guy drafted that high, u expect much more than just that.

I would use bigger Clarke MacArthur as a his comparison.

Not a bad comparison, he has been playing excellent hockey lately. I really see him becoming a good second line winger with about 60 points a year in his prime, which really isn't bad, especially considering how good he is defensively. Next year will be a big year for him, but I really am expecting him to put up about 45 points.
