I don't understand why people take offense to those who want to lose for a better chance at drafting an elite young talent?
What they take offense too is being attacked for cheering for the Leafs. Multiple members of tank nation have stated that fans that cheer for Toronto are not REAL Leaf fans. Both sides enjoy watching the Leafs so I wish everyone would just get along though.

Capgeek says Scrivens is RFA, and that would make sense since he isn't 27 and doesnt have 7 NHL seasons.
Edit: Rynnas too.
Well, if they're RFA, good. Scrivens looks pretty calm in the net, he's had a long development period, with 4 years in college and two years in the minors. He seems more polished than Rynnas, and has developed longer than Reimer, even. Why waste the development time if we don't audition him? I'd like to see him retained. Rynnas doesn't look that special, though he is athletic. Seems like a bit out of control like Gusty and from reports sounds wildly inconsistent, looking invincible one night and garbage the next. Might be an indication of temperment. Owuya is my fav out of the bunch. If we ditch Gustavsson and Rynnas, we should have a Swedish tandem of Eriksson and Owuya in the AHL.
Kessel had sick control on the power play, the other team gives him respect and he has a sick pass too, really good player, not a surprise he's near the top of the league.

Yet there's a sizeable part of the fanbase here that thinks he's a part of the problem and should be traded.

Phil Kessel again met with the media after tonight's game, something that was a rarity most of the season. Several strong answers, too.

And before the final blowout loss to Boston, many posters calling those who wanted a better draft pick losers & saying they're not real fans...
I totally agree though, those who want the Leafs to win no matter what and those who want the Leafs to lose for a better draft pick should just get along rather than getting mad at each other. At the end of the day both groups are Leafs fans, the only difference is that one can't bear to see the team lose and the other is willing to sacrifice some losses now to hopefully get some more wins later.

My issue is that people cheer for our own players to play like crap.
Look, im a realist, and I know that we need a good draft pick, and the best way to do that is to lose. But I also accept that a horrid ending to a season can impact a team in a negative way going forward.
Kessel scoring, Scrivens making saves, Gardiner gaining confidence etc all provide benefits in some form. I just hate seeing on FB and twitter seeing "Leaf fans" swear when Phil Kessel scored a goal.
I also hate seeing those same people cheer when we get blown out 7-1
I want the Leafs to lose, but I know the players cant think that way, I know the coach cant think that way, and I know that in the end the standings will do justice of where we are. Getting ticked off about it is dumb because no matter what we say a players effort (in most cases) wont be effected to try and tank
Yeah - do whatever you want (cheering wise). Personally I'm kind of on board tank nation but I certainly don't begrudge those who want them to win, and I do enjoy nights like tonight even if it potentially hurts the draft position.
