Quoted for truth. Backstrom had a great save there. Mike had a second to get the perfect shot on the one timer. It's not like he wiffed on it or something.
What did you expect? Despite all his "scholastic achievement" Dustin Brown is a moron. Take a shot in the slot? Nah, Pass it to Richardson who's got a guy inside his pants.
Considering how they started I'm not upset at the one point, but it's gonna make this last week more nervous than it should be, especially since Phoenix is going to win and Dallas/SJ is likely headed to a 3 point game.
The Sharks really cannot afford to let that happen.
I'm actually happy with this point. We looked so tired from the drop of the puck. The Wild got extremely lucky bounces on just about every goal they scored. They all were insane deflections.
I honestly don't feel it was about goaltending. Plus, as human beings instead of robots, I'm not surprised if they hit a wall in terms of physical limits.
Take care of Edmonton and SJ (and I think they can)...they will get in.
Edmonton is a god awful team, their 2nd best player is out, they have a laughable defense, awful goaltending, awful coaching. Andy Sutton, Darcy Hordichuk and Ryan Smyth taking regular shifts.
The Kings will be home and rested, the Oilers will be on the second half of a back to back.
The Kings should realistically win this game in regulation 8 out of 10 times. And get a W period 9 of 10 times.
Richards put it in the perfect spot and Backstrom simply made an all or nothing play and got it. No way will I accept criticism for that. he's played really well the last two games.
Exactly.
So when Quick makes saves like that, it's all Quick and he's fantastic, but when Backstrom makes the save, it's the shooter who screwed up (Richards)? If this was turned around, and it was a Wild player shooting on our goalie, we would have freaked out about how our goalie saved the game right there.

On paper , we know how that goes as Kings fans.
They just need to be heavy and use the body. EDM's younger skilled Forwards don't like getting hit.
You hit RNH early and often, he stays around the Blueline out of scoring area's.
The Kings still have a shot at the Division title.
Be honest peeps how many of you were ready to rip the Kings for losing both of the last two games ?
Don't lie now, you know you had your rants ready...
They clawed back to get a point, Lets get two more Monday.
I honestly didn't consider that the Kings would lose to Calgary or Edmonton. This is not a lie.
The next Edmonton game though, those guys are going to show up. There are guys on that team who have a backbone (in particular Eberle) and will take it upon themselves for their team to be better.
Loved Richie's energy tonight! Was hoping for a Richie's hat trick for the game winner.
I thought Richardson was fantastic, not only with the goals but the energy as well.
Most people here still think he is ticketed back to the press box when Carter returns. I think the only people he could realistically play over are Stoll or Penner. And I doubt Sutter makes that change.
Knowing how bad Bernier is at shootouts, do you think it's possible that a cold Quick might come off the bench if the situation arises like that again?

Johnny B won't play another game this season. Also if he wants to be a starting goalie in this league, he has got to get better at shootout's.

Your post made me think of something.
This very well may have been Bernier's last game in a Kings uniform.

dont risk the chance on a cold Quick getting injured imo

I was wondering the same thing.
It's tough to take Richie out of the next game even if Carter returns. My guess is Penner will be a healthy scratch.
Next question is if Penner is the HS, then does Richie stay on the top line?
