If the Kings win against edm and the 1st game against san jose, I can easily see Bernier starting the 2nd game of the back to back against the sharks. Kings win the next 2 games it pretty much wraps up a playoff birth and no reason to play quick on back to backs......

As far as the calender, the last 2 games aren't back-to-back. They're the 5th & 7th.

So to answer your question...nope.
I am beginning to think that barring injury, Bernier has played his last game as a King

Kopitar has been fantastic again this season, as usual. He will go down as one of the alltime greats to ever wear a Kings jersey.
if he goes the next 2 games without a point, all we're gonna hear about his how Kopitar can't play when it matters and how we should build the team around someone else.

Bottom line is, if we clinch, it's wise to rest Quick. Wouldn't you agree?

Only way I see Bernier is if we have the division locked up before that game, and that is not likely. We not only need to win our next 2 we need Phoenix to lose atleast a game.

Even then, if the Kings have the chance to knock SJ out of the playoffs, I think they go for the kill and play Quick.

If we tie PHX, we would probably have the same number of ROWs. Next tie breaker is head to head points, which the Kings lead 8-7.

What about the 3rd seed and home ice advantage? I don't see Quick getting a rest

Not if the Division title is on the line, I could see the Kings play him that last game if PHX/Kings are tied in points.

Not from me.

The guy has never had a great 2nd forward on this team, much less his line, yet all he does is go out there and produce offense.

Almost all the other star players in the league have a wing man. The Kings 2nd best forward is Dustin Brown. I am a HUGE Brown fan, but he is not a star player in this league.

Imagine if Kopitar had a true finisher on his line what his numbers would look like.

Ha, I like this (from Hammond):

(on whether this was a “good’’ trip, and almost a “great’’ trip…)
SUTTER: “Yeah, I think so. Heck, that’s what I told them. We got three out of four (points) in a day. And five out of six in less than four days. I think if you’d have said that, at any other time than right now, you’d say it was great.’’

Not sure if you are aware or not but Quicker's stats in shootouts aren't exactly great. 6W and 7L. Not exactly lighting the league on fire and his save percentage in the Shootouts is .667. Not great.

The difference is that Quick is combative, aggressive, and capable in the shootout. Bernier retreats deep into his own crease and is timid in the shootout. His style doesn't really mesh well with that competition. Skating quickly at Bernier point blank with puck on stick is where he can be weak.

Reading some of the entries here, one would think we just cemented last place in the entire league.

We got a point, people, and we still control our own destiny. I don't know how much better things could have turned out, considering Minnesota had two outstanding chances in overtime to seal the deal at that time.

Yeah, not happy Kings blew a 1:38 4 on 3 PP in overtime (they looked awful on it except for the Richards chance), but it wasn't unexpected either, considering their anemic season-long PP.

not a bad game for Kings:

cuz the Wild's tying goal was a lucky one for them,

as it was tipped and then went off the skate/leg of a Wild player,

and in the 3rd period with the score tied, the Kings survived a 4 min penalty kill, quite an accomplishment,

all after getting in very late,

so am satisfied with the 1 point and SO loss,

can't win them all and the team did fight thru fatigue and bad start,

Kings will make the playoffs and might even get the division title and 3rd seed in conference,

Go KINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brown has been fantastic for the Kings down the stretch, I think he has played the best hockey of his career in calendar 2012.
This is a very telling thing, IMO. People like the question Brown's character and leadership for reasons I have yet to decipher, but when the Kings need somebody to step up their game with the season on the line, Brown does it. Cliché, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going describes Brown AFAIC. Love it.

If anyone told me the Kings would be leading the division with 3 games left in the season, I'd be all for it. Let's not put our heads down, big game coming up vs EDM, let's get a W

When was the last time only one CA team was in the playoffs?

Why? It's not like there's a hot market out there for trading goalies. Would you really trade Bernier for a second round pick? Especially with the possibility of Quick becoming a UFA?

U seriously can't blame jb for losing the shootout. I'm sure its really hard in that situation. I blame showboating for the loss.

I'm very happy with the way he has played down the stretch, but it would be more accurate to say "When the tough get threatened with being shipped to Columbus, they get going."
