Stan Fischler

I know it's one day late. I'm also not sure if you watched HNL, but what they did for Fischler there, damn that was nice.

The most obvious man in hockey. "Now you see, if the Devils end the game with more goals, they will win".

lol Happy Birthday Stan.

That's Chico commentary. Fischler would say something that has no relevance to the outcome of the game.

If I could do what Fischler is doing at 80 I'll die a happy man.

I just watched HNL, and it was awesome what they did for Fischler's birthday. I thought he was hilarious "I would say that I was luckiest guy in the world, but actually I've seen Chico Resch play goal and he's the luckiest guy in the world".

My dad always told me not too like him, because he used to always talk up the devs. But since I have heard him I have liked him a lot. He has good commentary on the game and since he has been on twitter he has made bold predictions for the Rangers (in a good way).

Happy Bdday Stan

Happy b-day you old looney.

I still have no clue if he is a Rangers, Islanders, or Devils fan. Whoever is doing best in the standings, I guess?

I've written this here several times. Stan has jumped on the Ranger bandwagon in recent years because it's good for him. Stan hates the Rangers. And had for decades. In the 60's Stan desperately wanted to work on the Ranger telecasts but they didn't want him. When the islanders became good he jumped on their bandwagon so fast it turned his air gray. When the devils became good and the islanders sucked he switched to the devils. Anyone but the Rangers. This is not idle speculation. I know one of Stan's best friends. Now ex-best friend. He published some of Stan's books and they had a falling out over money. Stan helped his son get into hockey journalism. It is a given that Stan hates the Rangers. When MSG and Sportschannel combined somehow Stan came in the the deal and the Rangers relented and let him in. If you see Stan in a screaming match at MSG with someone a foot taller than he is come over and say hello. It's probably me. I never let him forget his Ranger hating roots.

That's a good point. All things considered, I think the day is rapidly approaching that Stannie Claus takes his beard and retires to the north pole.

I think he's a closet Debbies fan. Good, they can have him.

One other thing about Mr. Claus, he definitely put the word cheap into cheapskate. When my son got out of college, he interned for ole Stannie and the guy had my son drive him from his apt on Cathedral between Amsterdam ave and B'way to the Devil's games and he never once sprung for gas, tolls or even for a lousy lunch.

**** him, they should just put his useless old carcass out to pasture!

Happy 143rd, Maven! You've lost a step or two (or eighty-six), but you're a good ambassador for the game and a face that I've been seeing for as long as I can coherently remember watching hockey. Sportschannel lol

Neither. Stannie will get so old he will eventually turn into sawdust and Savior will keep puffing away on his stogies until his lips disintegrate.
