Isn't going for a playoff spot and a division title on the same road? It's not like the boys are going to get a playoff berth and just take it easy the rest of the way. This is a silly debate. If our team isn't shooting for the title, then there's something wrong.

I read the poll wrong then, my bad. Id still answer playoffs, but not gonna lie, it would be sweet to get that banner up

I said division but thats because there's a really good chance that if you dont win the division, you're not in the playoffs. So basically its a combination of both would really be my vote.

Weve led the division the entire season, I will be seriously pissed if we lose that and end up as the #8 seed. Soon we can say, finally the playoff drought has been broken, but to lead the division the entire year and throw it away at the end, just like that will be seriously ****ed up. The Cats better make these last 4 games the best games they've played this year and go into the playoffs on a hot streak.

Quick look at the magic numbers for both:

For the Division: Magic number of 5 (3 points vs the Peg and the Wings, and this makes the Washington game the clincher)

For the Playoffs: Magic number is 3 (and Buffalo still has to travel to Philly and Boston).

Bottom line is we need points and still control our own destiny.

Who cares if weve been holding the lead all year? weve been holding a PLAYOFF SPOT all year too. I really think itd be more of a shame to lose that...especially since...uh its been a freakin decade. It's playoffs or bust, not division or bust.
I think that's a rather silly interpretation of other posts. Especially in light of the fact the Panthers only need one win or two OTLs in their final 3 games to clinch a playoff berth and just 2 wins to clinch the division. Why would you think anyone that wants them to win the division doesn't care about the playoffs? The division berth is nearly as reachable as 8th place and would lead to a better round 1 matchup.

Or just one if it comes against Washington.

I voted division. While yes - the ultimate goal is playoffs no matter what, but I don't want to settle quite frankly.

This team has led the division for the vast majority of this year and I don't think anyone else deserves the division title.

These guys can still win it, and there is no reason why they can't.

I have full confidence they're making the playoffs, so my sights are set higher to the title!
