I expect Carkner and Gilroy will flipflop depending on who the opponent is. First round vs. Bruins, Carkner to start for me.
Carkner isn't going to play in the playoffs unless Gilroy just can't do the job at all IMO.
In the three games he has played the has averaged 9 minutes TOI (his10:18 vs Philly the high). This forces the other D to play too many minutes, should the Sens make the playoff and wish for any kind of success.
Gilroy was averaging 15 - 16 minutes a night, huge difference, so hopefully he can do the job.
Time for King Karlsson to light it up and put this Norris nonsense to bed.

Gilroy is a fk joke, I don't want to see that dumbass on the ice again unless we are forced to. He has a 2 cents worth of a head and a TERRIBLE hockeysense despite his mobility.
I'd rather limit Carkner's ice-time in the playoffs and he does have prior history of playing big before and very well in the playoffs 2 years ago against the defending champs Pens in round 1.
I like Carkner better than Gilroy too despite the ice time! can't STAND watching Gilory! out of of the games he's played, i honesty don't think he's taken a slapshot, it's always a lame ass wrist shots that have no chance of going in. Plus, he's horrible on the PP i prefer Phillips in that role and he doesn't get the opportunity if Gilroy is playing.

You'd also prefer a top-6 consisting of Gilroy-Campoli over Carkner as a number 6 d-man, so I'm not surprised.

Bridgeport (NYI AHL affiliate) is actually in a playoff race. Better to leave Poulin in there for serious starts, rather than backing up Montoya in the NHL.

All I can say is....if we win this afternoon...I'll be one of the first people in line tomorrow morning picking up my playoff run car flag at the Sens store.
