A. Generalizing from such a small sample (for Crosby in particular) is stupid, and B. When comparing him to Malkin you're assuming Crosby would play 82 games, and Malkin would only play the 75 games he will likely play this season.
Genos 11 goals and 12 assist in March should probably be good for his third star of the months honors...
In 2012 so far he's got 33 goals and 26 assists for 59 points in 41 games, including a whopping 66 goal pace!
He's been even hotter if you include the last 10 games of december. 39 goals and 39 assists for 78 points in the last 51 games.
I'd just love to see him and Sid both play 82 or at least 75+ games in a season at the same time again. I can only imagine the horrors they'd inflict on the Eastern conference. Both 100+ points, one or both with 50+ goals.
Current Standings:
Malkin: 104 points, 3 Games Remaining (GR)
Stamkos: 91 points, 4 GR
Giroux: 89 points, 3 GR
Spezza: 81 points, 4 GR
Neal: 80 points, 3 GR
Kovalchuk: 80 points, 3 GR

It's over. Only thing of interest for me now is whether or not Geno hits 50 goals. I really want to see him do it, but we have a tough schedule. An ENG or two would be helpful.
Like to see Neal hit 40 too. That would be awesome.
People are going to have trouble arguing Malkins dominance if Stamkos doesn't even hit a 100 with several games in hand & Malkin is in the 110 range. That's pretty dominant to me.
As for the Hart, well, I can understand why in interviews he says he's not really focusing on it since last time he won the Ross, Ovechkin walked away with the Hart. I know Pens fans feel he should win it, but a case can be made for Stamkos, Quick, Giroux and Lundqvist.
Hopefully he performs at beast level for the last three games, passes 50 goals and pushes everyone else out of the discussion.

Indeed x2. The Rocket may be long gone, but at least Geno can still reach what he says is his dream (to hit 50 goals) and ensure that there is no lone 50-goal scorer this year.

I've said it before but I really hope those ~3 missed EN goals isn't the reason Malkin doesn't score 50 this year. It would be a shame.

There is no chance whatsoever the Giroux or Stamkos wins the Hart over Malkin

If you can't even get your team into the playoffs, and TB will finish maybe 12-15 points out then how the heck can Stamkos win the Hart? that would be the worst decision that HUMANITY has ever made.

I agree. If I had a vote to cast, it would go to Malkin.
I'm just pointing out that there are other candidates and arguments can be made in their favor as well. And that I can understand why Geno is being so low key about it, since he knows from personal experience that winning the Art Ross is no a guarantee to win the Hart.

There really isn't though. It's not going to a goaltender.. and Malkin has been so far above everybody else offensively that you can't not give it to him.
Caps are horrible. They don't deserve to be in the playoffs. If we get knocked out in the first round by philly while other teams get to play horrible teams like the 8th & 3rd seeds I'm going to be jacked.

As long as you're mad at the Pens, because they'll have nobody to blame but themselves for the seeding.
Ovechkin from 109 points in 2009-10 to 63 this year
Semin from 84 to 52
Green from 76 to 7 (in 30 games).
Laich from 59 to 38
Knuble from 53 to 18
Backstrom gets a pass because he missed half the season and probably would have scored 85-90 points at his pace. Probably the player on that team they should keep and build around.
Well it's offical Malkin wins the Art Ross. The Pens have now won the scoring title 14 times in the last 24 seasons. Malkin wins the scoring race by 12 points despite missing 7 games. Malkin is the only player to eclipse the century mark for points and was 1 or 2 players to score 50.
