BTW, as great as it is that NBC is gonna **** ton of games in round 1, it is absolute BS that they're gonna be at 9am or 12pm. I mean, come on ... you're totally ignoring half of America.

idk, I think you like it because you don't have any stake in either team. Imagine if the Sharks played every game like the high scoring loss we had against the lightning. All offense no defense, goals mean nothing. That game had plenty of end to end.
I agree as a neutral spectator EC games are more enjoyable. But I would hate seeing the Sharks play games where they sacrificed all D just to score.

I would love it. Except, I don't think I watched that game.

The Sharks have had issues scoring, defensively they have been good most of the year. I actually think the Sharks are better in fast and physical games opposed to the cycle/grind game Tmac wants.
The Penguins don't even have a goon on their team. They have 2 dirty players in Kunitz and Cooke, but neither were on the ice. The comments from Philly fans and their coach are just asinine.
But even their styles are more fun - more speed, end to end, etc. less trap, less cycle
Funny how much things have changed in the last 7-8 years. Used to be the exact opposite. The West was wide open and the East was mostly boring trap hockey. Been slowly turning and this year the pendulum really swung a long way.

i love the announcers, lavy is upset the penguins sent out there 4th line in a 6-3 game with 1 minute and 3 seconds left. yes i guess it is physically possible to score 3 times in 1 minute, but that is funny.
so the pens send out crosby and malkin late in that game and that same hit happens just to the opposite team and malkin gets injured. i guess it is worth it that way.

I agree that Philly fans are out of line saying the Pens were gooning it up, but the Pens definitely do have a couple goons. Asham and Engelland both play the enforcer role and were both on the ice during the scrum. But I'm with you, Vitale's hit was clean and I didn't see any intent to injure there. The way I see it, what's the point of putting out Crosby and Malkin when you're down by 3 with a minute left? Fourth lines are often sent out at the end of a game that's already over.

Asham and Engelland are hockey players that can also scrap. They aren't Jody Shelley type players. They were out there in case things got bad, and they did. Vitale was sending a message, and the Flyers responded accordingly. That is fine, but Laviolette running his mouth about the Penguin "gooning it up" is just flat out wrong.
And you're right. Nothing good would have came out of playing Crosby or Malkin at that time. The only reason they were on the ice for the goal with ~30 seconds left was becuase Rinaldo and co were kicked out of the game.
Pens are gonna lose that playoff series if they don't take the Flyers more seriously.
I think the Penguins will beat them, but it won't be easy. Playoff Malkin is unstoppable, he'll be point-per-game and then some. A healthy Crosby helps, but the Pens are built well. Flyers are a tough team, and their best players play well in the playoffs. It will come down to Bryzgalov for them.

If Fleury ***** the bed then the Flyers will romp I think.

Simmonds is definitely benefiting from playing with better linemates. He's had a good year, he's a solid player. Reminds me of Adam Deadmarsh before the concussions.
