I disapprove solely because he played for Maine, his name looks like Mangina, even though that's not how it's pronounced, and he wore a fishbowl. He got trash talked like crazy when he played BU.

Article on him.

http://www.pressherald.com/sports/do...012-03-22.html

He is similar to Big Buff where he plays both offense and defense.

put up decent numbers in college at Maine. Not sure how many of those points were tied to Spencer Abbott.
Didnt see a lot of Maine this year, so i cant comment on him.

I do despise anything out of Maine sports. Probably going to take some time for me to adjust

I don't think many of them were. Abbott always played with Joey Diamond and Brian Flynn.

Finally found our RH D-man for the future!

In all seriousness, I know nothing about him. At his stature, I'm going to guess offensive D-man?

Also, I wonder if this means we're not in the running for Schultz.

I don't think one is related to the other. The Flyers have a few contracts coming up. This might have been the contract that was meant for JT Brown.

It is weird that they go for another defender. Their already kinda full back there. The only ones that dont have contracts are Jancevski whos an ufa and MAB.

A lot of UFA forwards though.

Sounds like he played some forward too. It will be interesting to see where they put him.

I was watching a video of him on youtube. He literally plays both offense and defense in a game. Like on one clip he is the right back, on another he is the left, and then he is on forward in another. So weird.

So we aren't allowed to have opinions on here anymore? I said there was a 60% chance of them missing, so I was wrong... Team was struggling defensively, and still are, but the difference is that they are finally getting solid goaltending to overcome that. Get over yourself.

Here's additional info (from early March):

Quote:
Mangene earns CBS award
Mangene has been named the Defensive Player of the Year by the CBS College Sports Network.

It was announced during the Boston College-Vermont game on Saturday.

Mangene has played both right wing and defense for the Black Bears this season and is one of the team’s top penalty-killers.

He is the right wing on the team’s top checking line with Mark Anthoine and Stu Higgins.

If a defenseman has to leave a game because of injury or game misconduct penalty, Mangene moves back to fill in on the blue line.

The speedster from Miller Place, N.Y., is also the team’s fourth-leading scorer with 30 points on 14 goals and 16 assists in 34 games.

He is tied with Flynn for the lead in game-winning goals with four.

He also leads all Maine forwards in blocked shots with 18.
