Central Scouting - 2012 Final rankings (April 9th)
The release of final CS ranking is tentatively scheduled for April 9th, but Mike Morreale already has some info about the NA list here (Link to NHL.com).
Quote:
"As promised, here are the top 10 players Central Scouting ranked in each league. In order to maintain some level of confidentiality, the players are listed in alphabetical order.
Keep in mind, this is the closest thing you'll get to a finalized list until the actual release of the "Big Chart", tentatively scheduled for April 9. The number beside each league represents the projected amount of first-round picks from that league's top 10.
Can you predict what the actual top 10 for each league might look like?"

I don't see how Matteau is still on this list. Seriously, if there is any top prospect who disappointed me more this year than he did, I haven't found him yet.
Ebert drops like a rock for reasons I still don't get but Matteau, who seemed more interested in either starting fights that he wouldn't finish or playing like a cheap thug, maintains his ranking.

I guess I've been "lucky" to see the "tame" Matteau as he was completely not off his rocker in the games I've seen this year. I see a lot of Tkachuk in him, to be honest.
I can't beleive that T Wilson is ranked as a 1st rounder... Guy looks like a 3rd or 4th line goon...
This doesn't say he's rated as a 1st rounder. It says he's ranked in the top-10 OHL players for this draft, of which, only 7 are expected to go first round. Seeing Yakupov, Faksa, Gaunce, Galchenyuk, Maata, Ceci and Finn, you can pretty much deduce that he's rated 2nd round. And I think that's probably fair.
EDIT: Sorry, I mis-read the first post and saw (7) was for the WHL. In this case, I agree. Wilson as a 1st-rounder is a stretch.

To be fair he is contributing in the playoffs. 3 goals/5 points in 5 games. If Plymouth moves on and he continues to add offense, dont be surprised if he's in McIlrath territory come draft time.
I hope my team stays away (unless we trade out of round 1 for 2- 2nds).

Ebert dropped because of his very poor play trough the first 2/3 rds of the season. There really is no sugar coating how he looked bad defensively, and couldn't produce offense.
People had him very high on the list based on expectations, and he really did not meet them through the first 45 or so games. He was expected to be a dominant force, and he quite simply was not.

Is that really a bad thing? Matt Cooke can play, agitate the hell out of teams, and can play physical. Is he the nicest guy? Hell no! But if you want a skilled guy that can give some punishment and piss other people off, Matteau can be that man.
