A bit too early to say that IMO, although he looks like he could be an exceptional role player for us, what a steal this kid was! If he can keep consistent and continue playing physical he will be a key player for us going forward.

We'll see how Harti looks in the fall. I'm a big questioner of Renney's decisions but he was totally right to send him to the AHL. He had a poor camp/pre-season.

That was a bad hockey game. Only difference between tonight and the last 2 games is the team we were facing. If this was LA/Dallas again it would have gotten ugly for Edmonton.

15 shots in the game.... zzzzz don't even have 30 combined shots over the last 2.

Surely you must've taken some enjoyment out of Dubnyk's performance? It was easily one of our best goaltending performances of the season.

2) Schultz is exactly the player we needed at the deadline, and he does those little things we need done to win a 2-1 game like knock the net off to avoid a goal.

3) The veterans are mailing this in, especially Horcoff. I can't see Belanger and Horcoff in our lineup at the same time next year, because that is a hole of terrible we need to fill.

4) Justin Schultz should be watching this game, because it is painfully obvious how much we need a PMD.

This game gives me hope for this line up up front next year.

Hartikainen RNH Eberle
Hall Gagner Hemsky
MPS Horcoff Jones
Eager Lander Petrell

Omark, petrell

Petry Smid
Schultz Whitney
Murray Potter

Sutton

Dubnyck-60 game starter
Khabibulin-20 game starter

Bye bye: Belanger, Smyth, Barker, and Hordichuk,
I'm glad we have Schultz as well, but you're not honestly applauding that play are you?

Truth, Dubby was stellar. Some amazing saves. Odd how I rarely enjoy a game dominating performance from one of our goalies. Probably because it generally indicates that the rest of the team did not play well.

Very true, having an elite goaltender would likely change that though, having even 20 games a year like that from a goalie would be nice.

His hands and skating and defensive play are no where near Tik's.

Tikannen was also a pretty decent agitator. Hartikainen definitely could improve that area some more.

Oh and the coach not knowing his offensive players from his ass
Even worse - outside the top three kids the rest of the "offensive players" wouldn't know the net from their ass. Hemsky so sick of Gagner/Belanger, his "shoulder" (read ego) flares up...

So that was Dubnyk's 20th win of the season in his 44th game. Given a season of 60 to 65 starts can we book him for at least 30 wins? I mean, Khabbie is almost a guaranteed loss whenever he's in net regardless of the team's effort in front of him.

Dubby was solid, but the Ducks had chances flubbed the whole night. The 2nd period was a comically 20 minutes of shanks. Only to be topped off by Horcoff's shank on the one-timer from Smyth.

Speaking of Smyth, I thought he played a good game.

The ice looked pretty bad.

Horcoff fanning is one thing (and expected), but when you see guys like Getzlaf and Ryan completely missing easy shots with loads of time and space it usually means the ice is bad.

I'd imagine they'd have gotten used to it.

H.E.P C? sounds like a nasty liver disease

I must say it sure was nice to see some backbone in tonight's game

Hard hits, standing up for each other, couple of scraps.

Good to see some of the guys on our team actually still own testicles.

Had the zebra's called the game fairly our shot total would have looked much different IMO.

Good to see someone else thought this. Thought he was energetic all night and going to the tough areas very well. Pretty vintage Smytty tonight.

They're obviously taking lessons from Shawn. Getzlaf hamming it up with Horcoff at the end of the 2nd period is further proof of that.

I missed the game, but a point by Nuge + Harti goals = success.

MPS must be rolling in his watery grave.
