You're kidding yourself if you don't think Oshie automatically makes it next time. My guess is you don't watch him play. He's a shade – just a shade – behind Backes in quality, and certain aspects of his game are better. Possibly the best reverse hitter in the league.

He's a good role player. Let's leave it at that. Not everyone needs to have their tires pumped (no, luongo)

Oshie has more offensive skills than Backes. He just has missed a lot of NHL games in his few seasons. He still hasn't put it all together. He's very good defensively, a dynamo of constant movement, plays a great physical game. His offensive game (passing, shooting) will improve, especially if he plays consistently with the same linemates. He's been shuffled drastically ALL his NHL career. He's lucky if he can even remember the names of his linemates.
Next season, with same linemates most of the time, I think he'll score 65-70 points.
bigger, better offensively, defensively, physically. Not saying I dont like cally(great player) backes is just a better all around player
Backes is bigger, but Callahan is more agile.
Callahan has as many points in less games.
He might be, but not by much. Callahan isa top 10 defensive player in the league.
Again, he might be (even though Callahan has more hits and blocks in less games), but not by much
Pretty even and I really think it may come down to people voting for who they see more often. Although, I'm voting Backes because I like the grit he brings.
I've seen the Blues quite a lot the last few years because of Kariya and McDonald playing there and David Backes is becoming the most overrated player on HFboards.
With that being said, I'd rather have Backes on my team because I value good depth at center higher than at wing, but it's a lot closer than the poll would suggest.
