i dont get the hate on the new Marlins logo, i think the Unis look pretty slick plus they have a brand new state of the art ball park with a new SS Jose Reyes!! IMO they have a very good chance at challenging the Phillies for the division crown if i had to rank the N.L East going into this year i would say
1. Philadelphia Phillies
2. Miami Marlins
3. Atlanta Braves
4. Washington Nationals
5. New York Mets
they also added Buehrle to the rotation and a few solid arms in the pen
oh and anyone who says Baseball sucks needs to shut it
I think it's the colors that are a let down. The orange type color on the sides is pretty bland to me, and then you have a part of the M that is yellow on the top. Combine that with the blue and the black (or white depending on the jersey), and it just looks like a mishmash of uninspiring colors to me.
The reason for the name change is simple...the City of Miami, not the state of Florida paid for this absolutely amazing state of the art stadium and in turn the Marlins honored the city with the name change. Logical.
I will be at the yankee marlin game tonight and then the Panther game tommorow night to see your Jets. Hope for an injury free game.
Good luck this game, the remainder of your games, and this off season.
Cheers.
But lets be serial...that logo/colour scheme is better suited for an Arena Football league.
i agree with you guys the miami marlins logo is disgusting. It looks like a color scheme for a 1980's miami vice ***** house.
The team will never be called miami marlins they will always be the florida marlins in my book. To call them miami completely excludes the majority of their diehard fans who live in broward and Palm Beach.
Anyways cheers for a good game tomorrow. A lot is on the line for the panthers and their fans-Opportunity to a clinch a spot in 11 years.
Baseball is not for me, although I can appreciate it for what it is. That logo is pretty brutal, but i guess it could be worse..? It's hockey and soccer for me, but this summer, I'm gonna get some serious camping and hiking in.
Anyone know how Welly broke his foot? I thought I remembered seeing him limping off during the last game, but he came back on to play. Tanner glass protege?

Baseball is awesome. The biggest addition for the Marlins may be Ozzie Guillen, one helluva coach no matter the theatrics he brings. Also, I think the Nationals will surprise folks this year. They re-vamped their starting 5 and have a healthy Stephen Strasburg. His nickname in college ball was "Baseball Jesus" for a reason.
In the AL, gotta love the Jays and their .800 winning percentage in Grapefruit League hopefully the momentum carries into the first month or two of regular season. Romero could very well be the best lefty in the game today.
On the ice, GO JETS GO. After the Panthers lose to the Jets, I hope they hang onto 1st in the SE for home ice advantage. Good to see a rebuilding team actually successfully rebuild and make the playoffs.

but the question is how long he will stay healthy coming off tommy john surgery

I thought TJ surgery was reliable but maybe I'm confusing it with another form of surgical reconstruction. Either way, I hope this kid sticks around all year bc he will be something else to watch pitch. As in, Roger Clemens early years, before all the juice and under-age country singers.
And that new ballpark in Miami supposedly has an aqaurium (can't spell it) built in the backstop behind home plate. That's pretty cool.

It is reliable, but it takes over a calender year to get back to be remotely close to where you once were.
So if Buff is injured while playing right now, are they gonna shut him down for the year as was mentioned last week? A deep bone bruise doesn't sound like something you mess around with and next 3 games could be used as auditions for Clitsome and Flood.
