just saying it must have felt good. i'm an avs fan but have always liked booth. and i know if i get in a fight, i'd rather it be vs someone that makes me look chara vs someone that looks like they could end my career.

should have worded it better, did not mean it as a slight on booth's character or anything. just that it's usually nicer to fight a smaller one. chara comment was for dramatic effect, not to be broken down so literal in stats. lol

Really?

Trying to stand up for a recently concussed top 6 guy who isn't a fighter that's on your team is something you rag on him for after he and the rest of the Canucks get consistantly ripped for not standing up for each other and not playing to the "code"?

Lappy was defending Booth. Thing that's great.

I guess you never defend your teamates.

Look out, he's got a taste for blood now!

Nice effort from Booth, especially after Olver took a run at Tanev in the previous game. Don't want to see Booth doing that all the time, but it's a nice thing to have in your repertoir.

Booth for Olver is not a good swap for the Canucks.

Almost as heated was the Canuck players fighting amongst themselves trying to fight the 5' 10" 170lb guy. It's still up for grabs who is going to be the first Canuck to win a fight this year, well pretty close anyways.

More than a bit of an agitator, his two favorite things are facewashing and running people.

It's sort of awesome, except he is going to get killed out there someday.

If you'd seen the way he's played against the Canucks this year, you'd be lining up to punch him in the mouth too.

Wish Rypien was still about. Give Olver someone his own size to play with.

ordinarily, but wins or loses mean nothing at this point for the Canucks. 1st/2nd in the conference is all the same.

I'm more worried about Booth getting another concussion from a pointless fight than anything else. That's a bigger issue than Booth-Olver trade off in a dead rubber.

It's that way every game. I haven't seen a single one this year where Olver wasn't involved in something or other.

If he keeps playing the way he does, guys are going to be lining up around the block to fight him. Generally I think guys who pull antics all game long should fight, but I'm not sure about how I feel with regards to this for a guy whose listing (5'9 170) is probably a little generous.

Yeah, if he's 5'9 I'm 6'5 (I'm 6'1.5 by the way).

Olver bit off more than he could chew. Even though Booth isn't a fighter, he's still a stronger guy and has had experience boxing.

I don't think people want them to stick up for their stars after their star has already dropped the gloves and especially since their star isn't fighting a tough guy instead he is fighting a non-fighter who is also shorter and lighter than their star.

Ya but think of what Lapierre saw? All he saw was a 4th liner fighting with Booth, a guy who had only fought once prior to that.

If I'm Lapierre, I'd assume that Olver is grabbing Booth against his will or that Booth didn't want to fight, which we both know is false. If you see that on the ice, you don't think, you get in the way. When Lapierre saw that Booth wanted to fight he backed off right away.

of course... it's like people have already forgot Rypien. His career was made by him beating the crap out of guys bigger than him

Rick Rypien was also built like a tank. I wouldn't be surprised if he was pushing 200.

He was listed at 190 but he looked kind of small to me.
