Doctors think that a possible new infection could ruin his WC, if he's not 100%.

He signed that contract because the Wild management haven't offered him a contract and he can keep developing in Finland and win another golden medal in FEL.

The first of those two articles is legit, no April Fool's involved with that one.

The first one is probably legit. The second link is just a short irrelevant story pre-playoffs about Granlund.

If the first article is legit, sounds like Granlund got Mono, not the flu. Probably from kissing too many girls!!!!

I'm just tossing that out there, but that would explain his drop-off in the second half of the season.

Mono can either just make you a little more tired, or knock you out of commission. It effects everybody differently.

I'm pretty sure that the first one, staying home / flu like symptoms -article, is true. Figured it for a while before posted. It's not provocative enough for a april fool thing. Like Mikael misses WC entirely etc.. And there are multiple sources, including quotes from head coaches and doctors.

Can't guarantee, but think it's a real thing. Mononucleosis could make sense. He never was himself after the long flu. What is most important, for the first time, somebody admits Granlund isn't 100% ok at the moment. While it has been visible before IMO.

The second article instead, yeah sure..

EDIT: I didn't find any of those contract comments from the second link. Anyone?

April fools. Random unrelated article about Granlund but since people can't understand finnish in here it might be enough to fool them.

Yeah, in the end the second one wasn't even HIFK's or some newspaper's april fools prank. Sad.

If he's out of the WC, will he be signing earlier just to appease the Wild and their fans?

While I didn't believe it. It's a believable premise. How I view Finland is that Granlund is basically a prince, and he has the privileges with the women of Finland that those types had back in the day. Similar to how if Joe Mauer had a personality (and the desire to do so) he could have nearly any female Twins fan in Minnesota

Thus it's believable that 2 straight years of partying with about 60 percent of Finland's female population... could back fire

Well I'm sure there is some demand among young ladies. Publicity has been quite kind though. Partly because HIFK made a sponsorhip deal with a local sensation magazine, 7 päivää (Seven Days). Coincidence?

Nonetheless There's been some rumours and articles including some models and misses - and I suppose Mikke is a good healthy young man

Why, clap is curable now if some finnish or maybe a swedish (stacking the odds for her country) gave him herpes that is scary.

Lets hope he hasnt dipped his stick in any dirty ponds. This team needs skill.

Whole HIFK team is on Tahko(vacation place) and some of the guys are together last time in years, so flu might be just excuse.

Mono sounds right, although I wouldn't rule out concussion symptoms either.

He hasn't had any highlight reel plays since the WJC, has he?

So are we going to sign him anytime soon? People keep saying he is busy with other things... hockey, school, military. So when is he going to stop being busy and sign his damn contract?

Granlund was voted the second best player of the regular season by players. Zaborsky won.
