okay where can i listen to post game flames radio talk on the internet?! Im dying to here this! Someone tell me where i can go and listen to podcast of flames radio where callers call in and cry please!
I actually think they do a pretty good job ... Fan 960, that is. I like them better than Team 1260. They do a pretty good roundup of non-Flames action. But their overtime show after Flames games is pure gold - it runs a lot later after losses!
its great isnt it? i have been listening to everyone and their dogs opinions in the office about the flames.
"trade kipper for a top 3 pick in the draft"
"trade iginla for seguin"
lol its great, the dumpster is on the horizon and its gonna hit right as the oilers take off the other way.
you could feel it already in teh 6-1 game in calgary, us oiler fans were loving the glimpse into the future, the flames fans were pouting in theres.
Haha ... days like this, I miss being in an office and listening to the cooler talk about the loser Flames.
As for the 6-1 game, I was fortunate enough to be at that one and it was truly glorious.
Regarding what they should do, they've really pooched things by delaying the rebuild. They can either try a quick rebuild (keep Kipper, Giordano, JayBo - trade everything else of value) or they can do a scorched earth, everything must go firesale. Tough decisions ahead and I can't wait to see what they do ... or hopefully don't do.

I've got a feeling they won't pull the trigger this year, but it will collapse during next season. The fans will get a little taste of draft excitement with their highest draft pick in years. Even the hard-liners will start to soften up to the idea.
Hrudey has Calgary at the bottom of his list of Canadian teams going forward (the ones that missed the playoffs) of course, maybe he's just hard on them because he's a season ticket holder.
1. Edmonton
2. Winnipeg (personally, I'd take them over us -- they've actually got a defence and some stability in net)
3. Montreal
4. Toronto
5. Calgary

Everyone and their dog has a NTC in Calgary. Good luck!
Definitely bump it. Doesn't Calgary still have the slightest glimmer of hope?
We can't abondon ship until they are mathmatically out.
The magic number is 1 with San Jose and Dallas.
Any combination of Calgary not obtaining one point or either San Jose or Dallas obtaining a point will eliminate the Flames. Crazy how Dallas went from leading the division to 9th. Guess that was waiting to happen as LA had to soft games against Edmonton and unlike some teams they took advantage in both and collected the 4 points.

on the Fan 960, they said that Bowmeister would not garner a first round pick in return. If the value is less than a 1st, than our 2nd round pick might get it done.
He is not fancy but it would be nice to have a guy who is never injured and can play 25 minutes a night of low event hockey. He isn't a true #1 because he doesn't put up enough points but he would be a very good partner to Whitney or Petry.
Time to shut this one down? the karma is getting ugly around here.
Pffff... please.
I am just fine with what is happening to the Oilers. I am sick of late season runs after the Oilers are eliminated and the games don't matter, inflating the expectations for the Oilers following season from the fans, and more importantly, inflating the value of players in the eyes of management so they end up "standing pat", bringing guys back they shouldn't, convincing themselves they don't need more size and more well rounded players, etc.
I for one am glad to see this stretch be a painful one for the Oilers. Let Renney wear this season in all it's glory on his face, right down to the final few games. If you're going to field a team that lacks discipline and constantly blows it's coverage in it's own zone for the first 72 games, let that be the case for the final 10 too so nobody forgets. Let the vibe at the closure of the season properly reflect the season as a whole, for once. Let a bunch of these players go into the off season questioning their future in the NHL, and training like they're on the bubble.

2 years left a 6 mill plus but we have the room.
why on earth would we help Calgary out of a crappy contract and give them a pick? for a floater on D? don't we already have enough crappy D men?

No.
He has extremely horrible value. The flames would be lucky to get anything useful in return for dumping him. He's a mediocre defence man who disappears when the chips are down. He lacks offence. He lacks grit.
After the 2012/2013 season, we will be back to very much caring about the salary cap and player salaries around here.
The only players I want out of Calgary are Kirpusoff, Glencross, and Iginla, and Iginla better be dirt cheap since he's a 1 year rental and you can't flip him at the deadline due to his NMC.

No way.. if history is any indication, any of his former teams that Bouwmeister leaves ends up being in the playoffs after. We do not need this to happen with the Flames.
I would love to get Kipper though.. wonder what it would take.

A little pessimism is an excellent motivator.
I'm alluding to the recent spate of injuries, I am all for shipping out the old and useless.
Weren't there some rumblings that Feaster wanted to blow the team up and go for a classic rebuild (despite what he said in the media) but didn't have the permission of ownership who are clinging on to Iginla and Kipper for dear life?

I heard that a full rebuild wasn't an option but I didn't hear Feaster wanted to do that and was turned down. Feaster said if they are looking to do a full rebuild, he isn't their guy.
