I posted this in my other thread but felt it made sense here and I'm going to post it in any thread that mentions Quick! Dude is incredible!

Damn, that Lundquist fanboy on the main board is hilarious. I think it says a lot that Quick has those type of people spazzing out trying to defend why Hank is the better goaltender. JQ is already in their heads, that's the beginning of the end.

I never realized Hank had so many fanboys that were not Ranger fans, they are all coming out of the woodwork now

Meh. If Quick makes the Olympic team (and he'd be the starter, Bettman don't you **** the 2014 Olympics up now), you'll see a couple thousand non-King Quick fans around HF.

It's because they are East cost fans and Hank's been around for a while and has always been solid. Now he has a chance to finally win and they don't want to see Quick, someone that they are not too familiar with, mess that up. It's understandable.

It'd be better if we had another year of this to conclude that. It took him several years to get this good.

Not a big fan of large contracts for goalies in any circumstance. Even for the best of them.

In the beginning i wanted Lundqvist to win it, but I think J. Quick will get Rinne numbers (salary) if he wins or not!

He deserves it! Go Quick! <3

This. All the usual suspects are having middle of the road years (Broduer, Luongo, Kipper) or are missing time (Thomas) and Hank is the only one having a very solid year so all the fans of the above are jumping on the bandwagon because lord forbid some young up and comer show up and win the award.

So the main arguments against Quick seem to be wins (LOL) and harder competition. The wins argument is such a fail, it's like factoring in wins for a pitcher. This argument becomes defunct in 1-0 games. Goalies cannot score goals. So giving up one goal results in a loss. Even if Quick made a 99/100 saves that night, it still goes down as a loss. It is a team stat, not an individual stat.

Secondly, competition. It is true that the Pens and Flyers score a ******** of goals, but now Quick is punished for that? What stat says that Quick wouldn't have gotten the same numbers if he were on the Rangers this year? I remember people giving that argument in the debate of Kershaw vs Halladay for the Cy Young. In the end Kershaw won with better stats. If Quick has better numbers than Lundqvist at the end of the year then Quick should win also.

"Since January, Quick is 18-11-6 with a 1.74 GAA and .930 save percentage; Lundqvist is 22-10-1 with a 1.92 GAA and .927 save percentage."

Wow.

I still have to pinch myself that the Kings have this great goaltending.

He might not have the same amount of wins as some other goalies, but in a lot of those losses he had, he let up one goal and we didn’t get any. He definitely gets under-recognized, and if he doesn’t win the Vezina, I think it kind of got stolen from him.’’

which is a stupid argument considering the other 2 divisions in their conference have 9 crap teams (Boston being the only legit team).

Yup.

Put it this way to those East coast looney's, 91 points cliched a playoff spot in the East.

So how does the west or the pacific Suck ? it's going to take 94 points again to make an 8 seed in the West.

The East is going to have a team in the playoff's that doesn't even have 40 wins.....

Not only should Quick win the Vezina, IMO he is the Hart Trophy winner as well. JQ is the very definition of the player most important to his team this season. absolutely elite performance this year by any measure.
