Is Feaster or Sutter in danger of losing their jobs?

It's a beautiful situation from an Oilers fan perspective, because Feaster doesn't deserve to get fired since he inherited a hell of a mess from Sutter... however... it just so happens that Feaster is Sutter v1.1. All indications are that he embraced what he inherited from Sutter (after being hired as and acting as his assistant GM briefly), and will continue to execute a similar plan and look for similar players for a team with the same M.O. as always. He even hands out NTCs/NMCs just like Sutter.
It's change, without effective change, which will prolong their suffering and deepen the hole they wind up in. Hopefully Feaster will likely go on doing the same things for another couple years.
I heard that a full rebuild wasn't an option but I didn't hear Feaster wanted to do that and was turned down. Feaster said if they are looking to do a full rebuild, he isn't their guy.
Oh my bad, that probably makes more sense then with what he said in the media.

There were rumors when he first took over that no one was going to be safe then the team went on a hell of a run and ownership told him that the Iginla was not to be moved, and as long as he stays the flames will compete for a playoff spot.

One forward isn't enough for a team to compete for a playoff spot. Tavares is having a better year than Iggy, so is Eberle, but their teams are both in the lottery. A goalie can make a world of difference though, which is what yours has been doing for a long time. I don't know how much longer he can keep it up though.

You would think but in Calgary Iginla keeps his team in the hunt on his own.
on the Fan 960, they said that Bowmeister would not garner a first round pick in return. If the value is less than a 1st, than our 2nd round pick might get it done.
He is not fancy but it would be nice to have a guy who is never injured and can play 25 minutes a night of low event hockey. He isn't a true #1 because he doesn't put up enough points but he would be a very good partner to Whitney or Petry.
2 years left a 6 mill plus but we have the room.
If the oilers want a soft dman who needs a defensive partner and can put up points the Habs can trade you Kaberle who costs way less than J-bo and will still get 40-50 points while J-bo is lucky to hit 20.
Weren't there some rumblings that Feaster wanted to blow the team up and go for a classic rebuild (despite what he said in the media) but didn't have the permission of ownership who are clinging on to Iginla and Kipper for dear life?
Edit: Debunked in post below me.
Dreger's hinted that Feaster is not being allowed by ownership to do things fully his way.

How is that possible? I'd understand more if you were an Avs fan or something. But its the Nucks!
Need a team to bandwagon with during the playoffs?
Don't I always . I grew up in Vancouver they were my fav team until the Bertuzzi attack and I had to listen to fans say that Moore deserved it, I snapped and couldn't cheer for them for a few years now Calgary and Vancouver are 1a) 1b).
Also it is no secret in Calgary that it is the owners holding back rebuilding of any type but I wish it was just a terrible GM.
“I’m sorry — Edmonton finished where last year, caller? Want to wager on where we finish relative to Edmonton this year? I’m tired of this question, I’ll tell you very honestly. I’m getting a little sour. How many teams . . . every year, for the last 10 years, five years, eight years, have finished in the bottom five, bottom seven, bottom 10? They’ve had a pick anywhere from No. 1 to No. 10 year after year after year after year, and they still wander in the desert. And they’re no closer to getting out than they were 10 years ago.”

2. Informal Something amusing, absurd, or contemptible; a joke: The solution they recommended was a laugh.
Never laughed at them said he didn't like the way they were rebuilding, he never made fun of them at all.
Really???

I’m sorry — Daniel Sedin ate how many punches from Brad Marchand last year caller? Want to wager on how easily the Canucks gets pushed around this year? I’m tired of this question, I’ll tell you very honestly. I’m getting a little sour. How many teams . . . every year, for the last 10 years, five years, eight years, have gotten so physically dominated on a consistent basis. They finish No. 1 to No. 5 in the standings year after year after year after year, and once the playoffs roll around, they still wander in the desert. And they’re no closer to getting out than they were 10 years ago.
Just to be clear, I'm not laughing at the Canucks, I'm just saying that I don't like their team toughness.

I agree Kassian better pull his weight. I don't get why you guys are so defensive about your rebuild, if you truly believe it is the right move it shouldn't care what other people say about and Feaster isn't the only one that doesn't like. I don't like the burn it down rebuild but I respect for Edmonton's management for sticking to the plan and not panicking.

I have zero interest in this guy. He's captain "unclutch", no playoff games on his resume, brutal offensive game. Pass.

I like this holier than thou attitude emanating from the fans of a team built around the No. 2 and No. 3 picks from the 1999 draft. The Canucks aren't exactly the Red Wings.
