I've gotta admit that Datsyuk has become my favorite russian player. Dude is just such a good guy and I love his sense of humor. If only the ******* would stop playing for the god damn red wings so I wouldn't have to feel bad about this. It's even worse than liking Rondo as a Knicks fan.

Mogilny was a Sabre, but I still think my favorite Russian is Bure.

Always been a huge Russian Rocket fan, but I absolutely love the way Pavel Datsyuk plays the game. Personally, think he's the best player in the NHL.

Larionov.
Any hockey player could watch him and learn something about playing the game.

Past era: gonna say Mogilny and Fedorov, and very close to Bure. Today, Datsyuk and Malkin.

Andrei Markov for me... this guy has done so much for this team.
It's just so fun to watch him. He will most likely retire as the third best D-men in franchise history.
Around the NHL: Gotta be Datsyuk

Just a little statistical comparison to illustrate the greatness of Zubov (playoffs in parentheses).
Niedermayer
GP - 1263 (202)
G - 172 (25)
A - 568 (73)
P - 740 (98)
+/- +167 (+20)
Zubov
GP - 1068 (164)
G - 152 (24)
A - 619 (93)
P - 771 (117)
+/- +148 (+28)
All of that on top of being one of the best technical defenders that I have ever seen. Yeah, I'm a homer but this is truly a player who never received the accolades that he deserved. So with that being the case, I take it upon myself to tout him as much as possible whenever the situation presents itself.
