I know, seriously! We suffer the humility of a blowing a game we should have coasted to victoryin, but not until we secure 1 meaningless point to push us farther away from a better pick and asset.

Classic 2011-12 Leafs.

On one of SN's replay, the puck is loose a couple times and is clearly visible until it's under a Sabre player for a while and it was under Gardiner when the goal is scored so the ref must have followed it ok.

Obviously, Leopold saw it.

However, the delay in between did seem quite lengthy. Haven't seen too many scrums like that when EVERYONE is in it and there's that time in which you can't really see the puck. But, that one replay did show the puck loose so the ref probably saw it long enough.

Who knows....weird goal!

Watch the refs head when the puck goes in...he has no idea where it is. Washington should be asking to have the ref reviewed that was a joke.

Leaf fans weren't cheering for their team to lose, they were simply cheering for Buffalo to win instead.

Haha, my god what a hilarious gift of a goal for the Sabres. The ref saw the light go on, blinked, check the net and blew it a good goal. Ah well. The only thing I'm mad about is that terrible extra point we got. Awful.

nope they just sucked they have since february......

people take the term tank nation to litterally, we dont think or expect our team to purposely lose, its meant we support the team losing, instead of winning meaningless games....

AND dont throw out the BS that:
- its better for the team to win and get its confidence back, blah blah blah, finish the season strong WE DID THAT LAST YEAR AND THE YEAR BEFORE THAT FOR **** SAKES APPARENTLY IT DIDNT WORK OUT, these are pro athletes.... a lousy end to the season would be a blessing in disguise imo not only as a better draft pick: use the embarrasing stretch as motivation in the offseason and come out hungry next year .... and anyone who isnt on board with redeeming themselves can gtfo, winning a stretch at the end of the season could end up being a bad thing.... they deserve to have a bitter taste in their mouths and have a heck of a tough offseason they ****ed it up for themselves and were the ones that have to pay for it

I've never seen anything like that 5-5 goal.....Could the ref have been watching the puck the whole time?

NHL clearly has a mandate that the sabres will make the playoffs. Refs have been instructed to let them win at all costs or risk losing their jobs. Biggest joke of officiating I have ever seen. What a joke. If i was a Caps fan i would be blowing a fuse.

Btw I thought Gustavsson was our Supreme Tank Commander but Phaneuf has blown him away in that department.

Zero chance. Especially when you see his delayed reaction to deeming it a good goal at least a half a second after it crossed the line, haha. Joke.

Well considering it took him about 5 seconds to recognize the puck was in the net that shows how much he actually had sight of the puck.

If the ref would have had to call a penalty shot then so be it. Do your job, I say. He clearly could not see the puck and clearly did nothing about that fact. Just went to the goal line and waited (and still missed it going in). That's straight up incompetence.

But sokil told me it was clear to see the puck on his HDTV!? Doesn't that mean the ref saw it too? ...

If I was listening to this on AM640 I'd still be wondering why the play hasn't been blown dead. Adding a tv to the mix just makes it more hilarious.
