I think this would make much more sense for the Leafs:

Sign Suter for $8 million per year for 8 years. Sign Chris Kelly for around $3 million per and they have just raised the competence of their defensive game by a lot, probably enough to be a playoff team.

Get rid of Komisarek any way they can for cap reasons.

Kelly and Suter would also increase the effectiveness of their pk.

Two players could address their biggest problems to a pretty good degree, it's just a matter of getting them to sign there so Burke has to beat all offers.

I am not even a Leafs fan but even I am tired of watching them perform badly.

Toronto should try to get Komarov (drafted in 2006 by Toronto) like 2 major Finnish sites have written today that Toronto is interested in signing him in the near future. Dunno what's their source though so it's just a rumor for now.

He's a Finnish national team regular and should definately be playing in the NHL. His current team in KHL is in KHL finals atm and once again he played important role in that.

Orly? We overpaid when we gave him $4m four years ago...

ps. Everyone on the open market gets more money then they are worth. Unless they are bring players.
