Potential Surprise Playoff Performer

Apologies if this has been discussed, but pretty straight forward topic here:

Aside from needing your best players to be your best players, is there anyone you could see really elevating his game next week and maybe starting to earn the reputation as being a playoff guy? Peter Regin was sort of that guy in 2010 vs Pittsburgh.

Based on size alone, I'd be looking for Colin Greening to maybe take advantage of his big frame and play some hard-nosed, in-your-face hockey that may be suited for playoff success.

Not that this would fit the bill as "surprise", but EK seems built for prime time, so despite the fact he will be targetted by whoever the Sens play, I see him finding a way to elevate again and come through.

Anyway, agree with Colin Greening? Anyone else?

I see this series as Turris's "coming out party" here in Ottawa.

I think he has a killer playoffs this year.

Jakob Silfverberg comes in Game 7 of the First Round, 3 Goals 2 Assists to lead the Sens to a 5-4 2OT win.

Spezza proves his doubters wrong again as a playoff performer going 1.5 ppg. Turris' has his coming out party with 2 GWG and assisting another GWG by Alfie. Neil has the other GWG.

Cowen.

He's won a memorial cup.
He's won a calder cup.
He wants a stanley cup.

Honestly though, he stepped his game up huge last year in bingo. I expect him to do the same this year. This kid knows what the playoffs are all about...kind of like phillips.

Big shocker could be Ric Rondra. He still owes us for that miss, said he would score when it matters.
Realistically Turris or Smith.

turris line, especially if foligno sticks with him.

spezza line will get chara and bergy. They'll still score, but there will be a lot of pressure on them. Turris should have a good opportunity to make an impact.

Gilroy

I see Alfredsson taking it to Thomas and getting us through the first round. Fingers crossed.

What are the rules for getting Silver and Z on the roster anyways?

Hate to say it, but Regin is a fair amount better than Greening.

Hopefully he can put his injuries behind him, and put up a solid 50 point season while playing 200 feet next season.

No, I saw him the other day and he does not have too much muscle mass, Greening is more effective of a player due to his athletisim and the skill sets are not too far off

Carkner. Good at getting shots on net and will win a big fight in Boston. He's also a leader and playing for a contract

Rick Condra. Once the playoff race is over, the playoff marathon begins. Hard fought battles are won by those with elite stamina.
