Do you actually know what having chondromalacia is like?

They played 2 games on March 28th and 29th. That means they are 2 games ahead of everyone else so they can play their next series a few days after everyone else starts. For example, the Phillies second series starts on April 11th. If they would have played in Japan on April 4th and 5th it would have been just a few days before the rest of the league. They could have been back on the west coast by Friday the 6th and had almost a week until their next game on the 11th.

I don't think the offense will be that bad. In a weird way we actually might be more consistent with the injuries. The issue with many of our hurt is they had some of the ugliest glaring weaknesses in the entire MLB. With our new line up we still have decent power top to bottom but they are all a little more rounded then the previous line up.

I really wouldn't be shocked if this line up matched last years scoring but balanced it out more.

I'm in a very deep fantasy baseball league and I am trying to decide on some closers here. I have Grant Balfour and Matt Capps on my roster and I am thinking about picking up Brett Myers and dropping one of them. As far as I know Balfour and Capps are the closer but I haven't seen them play much this spring. I like Balfour because I think his K's will be up there so I am inclined to drop Capps, but he was an all-star in the past and he still has some pretty solid stuff. Thoughts?

Balfour will have a short leash because there are other pitchers in Oakland that can close. Capps is ok, not sold on the Twins this year though. Same with the A's and the Astros (obviously). Are there any other closers out there on better teams? Is Sean Marshall available in Cincy? Or Holland/Broxton in KC? The Dodgers still have a competition going between Guerra and Jansen. The guys you have certainly aren't bad pitchers, they're just on awful teams.

Yeah Myers is the last guy left who has the closer's role locked down. Twins I think are going to be solid this year. I am more worried about Capps hanging on to that role than Balfour. Perhaps I'll do a 2-1 deal with someone and pick up Myers.

JC Matt Cains contract extension just upped the ante for Cole Hamels.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if he gets less than $25/yr mil now. So long, Cole. Enjoy the west coast. (or perhaps, so long Victorino).

If they lose Hamels, in 2-3 years we could see CBP as empty as the Vet was 10 years ago.

Exactly, but at the Vet they still had Schilling, and he was a top 3 pitcher at the time. Hamels alone won't keep us an annual playoff team. Amaro needs to talk to Holmgren about some rebuild on the fly tips

Agreed but my point is, if they let Hamels go they are obviously letting the window close and letting the team fall back into obscurity. If they sign hamels to a 3-5 year deal they are showing me, and a lot of other fans at least, that they are looking to retool and remain in the hunt even if it takes a down year or two. Part of the reason that the Flyers have such a great fanbase is that even when they sucked a few years back we all hung in there knowing Snyder wasnt going to let the team pick in the top 5 two years in a row.

Halladay prediction: 9IP 0H 0R 0BB 12K. Also hits a grand slam. drives in 6 during the game.

Utley hits a pinch hit homer from Arizona. Me excited for the game.

Yeah, this camera is slightly zoomed in too much.
