Taylor Fedun

A long time ago, Eric Nystrom and Taylor Fedun crashed into the boards in a preseason game for the 2011-2012 Season. Almost eight months have past and I haven't heard anything about him. How has he been recovering? Does he still have a chance at making the NHL one day? It would be terrible to see a young player's career end this way and I hope the best for him.

He was practing in a contact jersey last time we got updated. Not sure how things went though. Judging off of strictly the pre-season, he was our best defenseman. Looked like he could make as a PMD/PPQB.

That's great to hear. I assume he is officially out for the season. What is his contract status?

I recommend you read this thread on the Oilers' board
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1107723

According to capgeek, Fedun is on year #1 of a two year ELC with a $900,000 cap hit and an AHL salary of $67,500.

LOL thats cause the Oilers have all the good prospects

I think he could push for a spot this year. The kid looked amazing in preseason and was easily our best defender. He brings that perfect combination of skill and power. He would never hammer guys but I found he didnt back down that often either. I think he will steal potter's spot next year and should put up 20pts. To me he resembles a young Petry
