I think that leap year thing has been debunked, but it's not as if the world is ending any time soon anyways.

Quite a few tree branches, some big ones down. Another few weeks and it would have been like the may storm years back.

I hate slush. It's essentially raining outside. it's gonna be really slushy starting this afternoon

It might look like snow on the top but at the bottom it's all water

if mayans could actually predict the end of the world...dont you think they would have considered the change in the calender and account for leap years?

the world isnt going to end, but not because leap years say it should have already.

Are you referring to the blizzard of 87?

It always struck me as kinda weird how Black Friday was the same year as the big blizzard.

More like 97. It was about a week before I took possession of my house.

The Mayan calendar and the end of the world in 2012 is the biggest load of cod swallop of all time. Why do people buy into this nonsense? (not aimed at you Koto) Must see presentation:

We had one in 87 as well. For my 5th birthday we were in shorts and t-shirts. I got a brand new BMX bike and got to ride it one week before the blizzard hit and i had to wait a week.

Anybody that hasn't attempted going into work today should probably just stay home. Only absolute emergency services should be at work today. Anybody that did go to work or school should probably head home ASAP unless you want to be stuck out somewhere most of the night.

The roads on the "drive home" is absolutely guaranteed to be a cluster**** tonight.

Stay home, or get home early. This blizzard is still full on and sideroads getting even worse. Many bus routes not running. Countless traffic lights out around the city. Henday interchanges closed etc.

My advice: Get home, warm up, and start drinking.

Hopefully you all are stocked up.

Merry friggen Christmas

SNOWBALL FIGHTTTTTTTTTT

as opposed to, I don't know, the basic ability to drive. Or go outside. Or feel happiness.

For sure.

But I'm not sure how people are planning to drive home on side roads say through cul de sacs or backalleys and get vehicle back in the garage. Good luck trying to park anywhere on a streetfront as well.

Good luck if somebody hasn't been kind enough to shovel driveways/parking lots. Not like you can park your car, get out, and shovel. Soon as you stop on the side road you're stuck for good.

I've been the good samaritan today doing driveways and shovelling walks.

I think a lot of people left for work this am and didn't really think this through.
