Will we see Chicago Vs Vancouver round 4 this year?

Well technically it would be round 6 right? .. but 4 years in a row this would be.

With Vancouver's recent surge into 1st place it makes it all the more likely happening.

Vancouver finishes 1st and Chicago 6th sets up a 2nd round match up unless the Coyotes (or whoever finishes 7th beats St. Louis)

Granted there are still 3 days in the season and anything can happen.. but as of now I think both teams with their first round season.

More importantly do you want it to happen?

Sure why not? Mainly because a potential Blues-Hawks WCF would be extremely entertaining.

The thought of potentially having to face San Jose, Chicago, AND Detroit to get to the Finals just scares me.

But yes, I hope it happens. We need to even the score.

We'll take San Jose for you guys, just lose the rest of your games.

If the Hawks draw the Kings in Round 1, they're finished.

even though i don't think they can beat nashville, detroit, or los angeles without toews, i still voted yes because chicago always finds a way to play vancouver.

Well with Chicago's poor goaltending situation I think they'll have a hard time just making it out of the 1st rd regardless of who they face. I think the Canucks would be happy with a 1st rd match-up against the Sharks considering their dominance of San Jose this year.

LA will be a tough test but I think the Hawks should win that with Toews.

Even if Toews isn't ready right away just a split should be enough for them to get it done.

My prediction:

1 Canucks vs 8 Kings
2 Blues vs 7 Sharks
3 Coyotes vs 6 Hawks
4 Nashville vs 5 Red Wings

So it would be
Canucks/Sharks-Canucks win
Preds/Hawks-Preds win

Preds/Canucks- Preds win

So nope. They won't play unless they can beat Nashville or if the Blues can beat Sharks, Kings or Coyotes(I'd take Blues over Yotes, not Kings or Sharks). I'd rather play Canucks than the Predators for sure. Still, even the seedings aren't done yet. How can anyone realistically predict if they will play each other?

Apparently there's something about Bolland being out now.

Short-term upper body, and even though the Hawks would obviously never admit it, they realize 6th is much preferable to 5th or 4th.

He'll be back for the playoffs. So will Toews, according to essentially every source.

Assuming everyone is indeed back and healthy, that team will not lose to Los Angeles if that's the matchup they get. Quick can't put up a 0.980 sv% every game.

You're right that it's difficult to predict that the seedings will work out to make Chicago/Vancouver a likely second round matchup.

But to nitpick, there is no way in hell St. Louis loses to San Jose in a playoff series this year.

If the Nucks finish 1st in the west (fairly likely), and Chicago finish 6th in the west (fairly likely), then I say yes, I think this happens in round 2. I see Vancouver and St. Louis both beating whoever they play in the 1st round, and I see Chicago beating whoever wins the Pacific, so that'd leave us with Vancouver vs. Chicago in the 2nd round.

I think it happens, and I hope it happens. Vancouver vs. Chicago in the playoffs is always AWESOME hockey, even as a fan of neither team I'd tune in for every game.

Sure it's possible and I'd love to see it, but it's possible that Vancouver plays San Jose and Chicago plays LA in round 1. Both tough series so let's get through that first.

I'd like to think that even Quick standing on his head is no match for Chicago's offensive superstars if they're all healthy.

Luckily the Kings are a fairly soft team that can be shut down offensively so I think the Hawks would take that series in 6. The Kings are still technically battling for a playoff spot so I think the Hawks would take game 1 at Staples against a tired Kings squad and win out at home.
