While trying to see what Derek Dorsett was talking about in a Tweet about the Macklin Mohawks, I found this interesting logo for the Eston Ramblers in the same league (see the top bar on the page):

The Cannon Report (CBJ Podcast)

Hey Guys,

Caps fan here and I come in peace.

I wanted to see if you guys were aware of a Columbus Blue Jackets themed hockey podcast called The Cannon Report, www.thecannonreport.podbean.com

I stumbled onto it on twitter, and I really like it, even though I'm not really a CBJ fan.

The guys are big CBJ fans, they're funny and they know their stuff.

Just throwing it out there.

Cheers

Oh so they are everything that our local media isn't? Yes, this is directed at you Rimer and Torg....

I've heard of it, thanks. I don't listen to podcasts very often, so haven't had the pleasure.

Three stars of the week...anyone?

Doesn't the NHL name three stars for each week?

Umberger: 5 Goals and 7 Points in five games
York: 3-0 in three starts (plus two relief appearances) with a 1.55 GAA and .950 Save Percentage

Both would be solid choices!

Both had strong weeks, but did others have better weeks? I feel one of them could easily be considered a star of the week, but not both. Both Malkin and Spezza had 7 points in 4 games to look at in perspective on Umby.

Mike Smith played only 2 games, but he was perfect this week with 2 wins, 2 SO and 82 saves.

#CBJ D Jack Johnson already owns the franchise's four "most ice time, defenseman" records ... all set in the last eight games. #toihoss
Simply not true Portzline.

The Record is owned by Deron Quint, set November 21st, 2001 (against Detroit), playing 33:18. 2nd is Foote, who played 32:50 on 12/8/2005 against the Isles.

Johnson's game against Detroit ranks 3rd.

Regulation TOI. Both Quint and Foote played into OT or SO.

Jack tweeting about baseball and golf. Only a matter of time before those lazy slackers in the locker room rubbed off on him.

Do these tweets disqualify him for captain consideration?

Not only does it take him out of the running for additional letters, but I may have to consider taking his M and F away...

Last night I had a dream I took everyone I work with to a BJs game. We were in the press box, and Portzline was watching Family Matters on a portable t.v. instead of the game. Then the ceiling collapsed and we all had to cram into the basement so they could count us all and make sure nobody was in the rubble.

Anybody with some Joseph Son Of Jacob-type skills who can interpret ?

Sure. Prospal said that if a player goes over to the refs and curses and yells, then a misconduct is warranted. He said he went over 'with a letter (The 'A') on my jersey' and asked why the jackets were getting a penalty; then got sent to the box for 10 minutes. He made some comments about the ref not showing him (Prospal) any respect.
